Cleaning the rollers worked for me. LOL @ unplugging the cord from the power source ... printer did not "reset" when I tried this.

The test page prints just fine. But as soon as I try to print a normal document the printer won't grab the paper...

the printer does not display the menu bottons when i start it , it asks to print alignment paper and when it does it does not print all the way then it stay loading and the loading screen wont go away could it be a software problem

Try a hard reset of the printer. Turn the power off. Remove the power cable and the data cable from the unit. Connect the power cable directly to a wall outlet. Wait for 30 seconds then reconnect the power cable to the unit and turn the power on. See if the display is still doing the same thing, and whether it will print the alignment page.

Where do I have to insert photo paper in this printer -hp envy 5530- ? I bought hp photo paper 'hp social media snapshots'. The size of this paper is 3 x 5 inch. I see several print tutorials for photos. Do i need to insert in the middle? Between the 'moveable grey slides'? Or do I need to insert totally to the right side? It doesnt help either that the hp social media snapshots app says ' use papersize 10X15' while the paper is actually 10x13cm . (same as 3x5inch i guess). It does not even have the oppurtunity to pick size '3x5inch', doesnt exist in that app.

Thank you for your help. It worked a bit. I could add a 'new size' to my printer by myself. But I'm afraid thats not the main problem. When I cut a (normal) sheet paper into size 10x13 cm precisely, the printer prints the photo very neat. But off course, I want to use the more expensive HP Social media snapshots paper. When I use the same size setting (10x13) and print it, it seems like the printer doesn't have good grab(?) on the paper. Or just halfway te paper. So the result is, the top of the photo is not on the photo. And the photo ends halfway the paper. Help :). Wish i could send you a photo of the result.

Printer works great but it will not print with a full page glossy photo paper, IT WILL ALWAYS JAM........What can i do so that i can print on an 8X10 glossy photo paper?

Buy a better, non-HP cheap printer. Or, try using brochere paper. It isn't as thick and you can get it in a glossy version. Just make sure the paper is for inkjet printers.

However, this made it difficult to compare different products. Nowadays, the published page yield is based on the Industry Standard for measuring yields (refer to International Standards Organization ISO 24711). The actual yield varies considerably based on the content of the printed pages, the frequency of printing, the ink used in set-up etc. You may find that you will get more pages when printing in Fast draft mode. XL size cartridges offer up to 50% lower cost per page compared with standard size cartridges. HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink or toner supplies. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges. This printer is garbage and broken straight from the box. The second you try and test an alignment it gets jammed. You cant even print if you cancel it
