I have a similar problem but I need to leave a Chanel for a drawstring. Would you recommend after Ironing for me to stretch and stitch about 1/8th” down from top of waistband leaving room for the drawstring and then another row at bottom up equal amount? Or maybe and a second row down from top and then meadure for the drawstring?

Please share how you'd fix/reinforce the crotch in a pair of pants, like linen or cotton! Mine always seem to wear down around there.
