Fixing Saab 9-3 Window Switches for Free!!

Your windows work normally when using your convertible roof switch or the passenger door switch, but cannot be operated from the driver's side switches? This video will help you to resolve this.

Have to do this on my 06 aero, worked fine, came back 45 minutes later and nothing. thanks for the vid to make it easier! Also, love that you just walk away from the door panel leaving it hanged in disgrace and disgust like a lover's betrayal.

Super , ich hatte dasselbe Problem an meinem SAAB Cabrio. Danke für den Hinweis. Mein Schalter funktioniert nach der Reinigung mit Kontaktspray auch wieder. I had the same problem. Thank for your advice. I cleaned the switch as shown and now it works again.

I've had this Saab twice and I can confirm the windows always break... And yes going through McDonald's is always fun- like open the door and get out

When the PDM is replaced, does the new part have to be married with the TEch2 device or will it work without it? Colleague "Saaber" says that it will work without problems, except that it will be seen on the Tech2 device that it is the second PDM number

Did you just pull away the door card from the bottom or up and away to get over the hooks ?

Greetings from Croatia I have the same Saab the same age. My problem is the rear window on the passenger side. I can't put it down. I could have a problem with the window lifter. Hello again and it is a beautiful car.

I didn't see this. Depends if the window goes down with the roof switch or not. If it doesn't, the issue would be with the window regulator.

Hi nice work. Not sure if this is my issue but some forums suggest so. Have no window, mirror or locking power drivers side (RHD 04 Aero vert) You didn't happen to note the part number of the unit did you? With comfort opening & pinch protection? Thanks

If you have lost all of those things, it's more than likely the wire loom that's the issue, at the door hinge in the rubber pipe. Constant bending of the wire can eventually lead to it breaking

@@SaabUnleashed thanks for reply. It coincided with "lock system failure" on my SID, but Tech2 showing no DTC's. Bizarre Saab stuff, harder when much of the info & part numbers relate to LHD. I'll post a resolution when I have one. :)

Always use an eraser on the back of a pencil to clean contacts ...been doing it for 40 years

When putting the door panel back on, do you need to hook the bottom part first and then work your way up? Or top down, by inserting the door lock barrel first?

In the video, you hooked the bottom hooks in first, then put the door lock pin in, is that correct? I’ve just done a speaker upgrade and I’m having trouble getting the hook at the bottom closest to the speaker flush, so that part of the door card just doesn’t want to sit flush against the door card. There must be a technique?

I'm slightly confused; at around 1:50 you take the mirror controls off. You have a bit of a look at the thing, but there's no sign of you disconnecting anything. Is there some wiring connected to those controls?

Yes, sorry. There's a single loom that you need to unplug from the back

Mine unplugged itself when I removed it. It appeared his did, too.
