Fixing the 1990 Bathurst 1000 Victory

The 1990 Tooheys 1000 from Bathurst was one of the most significant races in the history of the event.
It is famous for the first Bathurst appearance of the Nissan GT-R, the first full re-surfacing of the circuit since it was first sealed, and an unexpected winner.
Touring car racing in Australia had been dominated between 1988 and 1990 by turbo-charged Ford Sierras, and Holden had not won a thing in that period, aside from the odd AMSCAR race, and the F1GP support race in 1988.
But win Bathurst? No way said the experts.
But win they did - but something else happened that afternoon.
After 6 hours and 20 minutes of racing, broadcaster Channel 7 missed the winning Commodore of Win Percy and Allan Grice crossing the line!
This had always bugged me.
In the telecast open the following year, some in-car footage of Allan Grice crossing the line was included.
So, I've fixed it!
This isn't perfect, as we still can't see the car crossing the line - only from inside, but it is an improvement.
There is footage in the Channel 7 archives somewhere of the car crossing the line. On the Friday night before the 1991 race, Derryn Hinch broadcast his current affairs show from Mount Panorama, and there was footage from a backpack camera in the pit line of the car crossing the line.
But I've never managed to get a hold of it - if anyone has a copy of the Hinch program from 04/10/1991, I'd love to get it and fix this properly.
A long shot, but you never know!
