i did this part 6 months ago pain in the ass its easier to go up from underneath between the frame n oil pan a few months later i did an intake gasket n valve cover gasket theres a metal bracket above the solenoid that mounts to the intake to attach the wiring to i realized leave the bracket off n zip tie the wires out of the way n the solenoid is way easier to get to

Unbolt the alternator and move it a little and remove the battery and you can get easier access from the top.... I couldn't get my fat arms in from the wheel well

No, sorry I didn't. I no longer have the truck, but it ran fine the whole time I had it. Sold it with the check engine light on 😆.

@@scaryjerryman ok! They are pretty good engine! The all problem on these trucks are the rust . When u have that code did you have any smell like gas outside of the truck??

@@filipebmwm3 I just picked up a lower mileage, COMPLETLY rust free, 2010 Canyon, and it has this code. Comes on after a few days. I will say, even if you already checked and replaced your gas cap (the primary initial suspect for these codes). When I bought the truck it had an aftermarket one that looked old and cracked, so I initially suspected that was the cause for the code and I replaced the cap with an OEM one. But, when I still had the code, I took another look at the cap, and the filler neck right where the gas cap seals was rusty to the point there was no way for the gas cap to properly seal and definitely COULD have cause this code, but wasn't my issue and the code persists. The place selling it already tried to fix it replacing the Fuel Vapor Hose and EVAP Canister Purge Valve (I verified they are in fact new parts). Talked to a friend that knows these trucks and he said that having already eliminated all the easier to fix suspects, it's almost surely the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, up on top of the tank, under the bed. It's a huge pain in the ass dropping the gas tank just for a simple repair with a cheap part for a stupid emissions small leak code. May even be the reason the previous owner finally traded mine in. It's apparently one of the more common causes of people driving around with persistent codes on these trucks since the the cost to reward ratio of the repair is so low. For now, I have a Chinese Android head unit and a bluetooth ODB II reader and have a shortcut set up to reset it in only a couple clicks, for now.

@@Turd_Ferguson666 Thankyou for your update on that. Actually the code comes once in a blue moon. I have a fuel filler neck brand new to put in, maybe helps about the little leak. In another day i have another code whit big leak. It’s really sucks, because u keep buying new parts and the codes don’t go way.
