Thanks for the vids! I'm currently working my '88 Formula 350. I recognize that fan noise when you turned the key on. I had one of my fan motors making that bearing noise. I ended up replacing both fan motors because the other fan motor wasn't working at all.

Mine are acting very weird. I hard wired the one on my red car to a switch hidden in the drivers footwell and that worked great. The fans dont wanna kick on for this car so i am gonna mess with it more. Also sweet man i love hearing about peoples projects, especially 3rd gens !

@@adilullo88 I have the exact opposite problem. When I bought the car back in March, one fan was on all the time with key on. Checked relays, corrected bad wires and connectors and determined one fan motor was shot. Replaced that fan motor, turned the key on and the other fan motor made that terrible bearing squeal! Had to replace that one as well. Now both are running with key on! Probably going to put an aftermarket cooling fan controller to work around the wiring issues. I just repainted the car at home last week. Working on coloring sanding and buffing now. I had to get rid of the Aerowing because it was rotting away and warping. I like a different style anyway and it's a heck of a lot lighter for that hatch!

Did the digital gauges only come on the GTA, or could get it on base firebirds and formulas? What years did Pontiac offer the digital gauges? Thanks.

Only Trans AM and GTA models had the option for the digital dash.

Hey y’all’. I have 88 GTA with the same digital cluster. My speedometer reading jumps like crazy when accelerating, when the car is a complete stop it stays true at zero but when i accelerate the speed just doesn’t read what the truck speed is. Any idea what the issue could be? Thanks for the help in advance.

Was the issue with the tach light bulbs? Mine the tach,speedo and fuel gage went dark

Quick question. I know it may be stupid but I’m kinda new to cars and stuff but would you be able to switch that dash out and put one on a 1984 trans am? Didn’t even realize it was a year ago I asked lol

yes anything is possible, but it is extremely hard bc of how they made the digital dash so its gonna cosat you hundreds of hours of headaches or a pocket drain

I noticed that yer coolant wasn't reading. Same as mine. Does yours work or any ideas? Thanks

It works, it just wasnt up to temp yet, they start reading at 120 degrees, check your temp sensor. That might have gone bad

@@adilullo88 Yeah no sir. I replaced the sensor. Even just dead ended the wires and still no reading. Had a mechanic look and said possibly the ECM. Maybe just install a manual guage but I'd rather have all guages working. lol
