The problem here is that not many people watch women sports especially women. If nobody buys tickets, merchandises and has low viewership count, how do you expect women to earn as much as men?

How ironic that the call for equality in woman's sport is based on the initial inequality of the separated men and woman's games. Women say the sexist thing that they are not as good at tennis as men, (I know many women who are better at tennis than some men), and then shout the inequality card within that accepted unequal system!! Why not solve this gender problem in sports once and for all and in a way that is totally gender neutral - just have a game, a race, a golf tournament, a tennis tournament open to all people of all genders and get rid of the legacy system of separated men and woman's sports that causes the problem in the first place. I wonder how many gender identities would agree with that fundamentally fairer system?

These idiots forget a basic economic concept (actually it's a law)... Supply = Demand ... If people (both men ad women) don't tune into a sports event, then you can't pay said players more. And even in Tennis, top men's players earn more..

Why should women get the same as men? At Wimbledon, both the men and women champions get £2.3m. That's not fair. Men have to play 5 sets and women only 3 sets. If you only play 3/5 time, you should only get 3/5 of the money, that would be fair.

Men play 34 games per year women only 22. Men bring in 38% more fans… I want to earn the same amount of money as the Kardashians …. By the way, in the U.S. Open men compete best out of five yet women compete best out of 3. Still getting paid the same amount. Is that really equal?

What an all-around silly topic. There is no problem requiring a solution. Of course there's a gap, and it makes total sense. The revenue is vastly different. Period. If women want to be paid comparably, they are free to try out for the men's league, which is open to qualified women. There just aren't any. Failing that, they need to attract more fans (including other women). In tennis, this is already the case. But that's the only sport that comes to mind. Whereas the WNBA exists thanks to funding from the NBA, in other words it's a tax paid by NBA ticket/merch buyers and advertisers.

That's not as easy as you make it sound. Men and womens physiology is completely different with men having shit tone higher amounts of Testosterone in comparison to women. For our anatomy, women currently in sports are doing very well, but people always compare us to men which of cause makes us sound like we're shit because they're biologically stronger.
