This is a great talk! Thank you! I've been working on a documentary about women's baseball for a long time and many of the areas you covered are really important to understand and raise to the general public.

All football cares about, are getting the best of the best in order to win. It's all about money, competitiveness, and greed.. All they care about is the bottom dollar. Period. Who can jump higher, who can ran faster, who can think quicker on the dime...and that's all there is to it.

I would agree for most cases but I think in basketball it’s differently viewed.If white players are typically known as “smarter” or “better leaders” then why is Lebron James known as one of the smartest and the best leader in the league, and why is Rajon Rondo known as having the best basketball IQ?, and there are players like Steven Adams who are known for there physical strength and “natural talent”

The comparison between Tom Brady and Cam Newton was a terrible choice. Tom Brady is undoubtedly more "football smart" than Cam Newton and that's based on their play in those Super Bowls that he mentioned. Quarterbacks receive more endorsements and a higher salary because they are the most important position on the field FOR THE GAME. Does this guy know who Russel Wilson is???
@troylirette22924 жыл бұрын
Adrien Yb I’m not disagreeing with this guy’s point. In sports journalism this stereotyping does happen, and it shouldn’t. I was just pointing out that he used bad examples in the NFL. There’s guys like Aaron Rodgers and Christian McCaffery who get praise for their athletic ability and guys like Pat Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and Michael Thomas who get praised for their football IQ. Using the Brady/Newton comparison takes things out of context because Brady is considered the greatest player player of all time. I agree a lot of it was the system and I’m not a Pats fan but that’s just how it is, people think Brady’s the GOAT. Additionally, Brady never has gotten praise for his athletic ability, because ever since his NFL combine he hasn’t been a mobile QB, where Cam Newton at the combine was an incredible talent and broke rushing records his MVP season. They are two different styles of players and he should have came up with a better comparison like Rodgers/Newton, both won an MVP, both played in a super bowl and both known for being mobile quarterbacks.

You should broaden your own thoughts. For instance, we will also ask a person with lighter skin, who has an accent, where they're from. It's more to do with the accent than the skin color.

Tom brady and cam newton was a horrible comparison, tom brady was never athletic, and never will be, he was lucky to be drafted in the 6th round with a horrible combine, if bledsoe never got hurt we may never know who tom brady is, if tom didn’t have the IQ he has, he also wouldn’t be the tom brady we know today, and cam newton had 1 good year in the NFL, at least make a valid argument.
