I loved this family when I was a teen. I made sure she became a boss babe with a himbo husband and reclaimed her families wealth ❤

ive started playing as polly!! i joined the journalist career since she likes books and also wrote a bunch of books! her life truly changed a lot. first i started by giving her a roommate (the glasses male friend) so she could get some financial help. then i started writing books and gaining charisma so i could get promotions at work and also get money from books. i started to make some good money so i reformed her shitty basement apartment. i also fulfilled her lifetime wish pretty easily :D THENNN i focused on getting her a partner. it was hard, but eventually she rly hit it off with lola belles boyfriend, named kai. since he has the gold digger lifetime i imagined that after meeting polly he realized that life isnt all about money and that people have much more valuable things inside them. so he left lola and married my sim and he finally got a proper job and even changed his lifetime wish to obtain level 10 in athletics and in logic!! they got enough money to move to a cute house and have 2 kids currently

Poor Polly, I've deleted her immediately in pretty much every Bridgeport save I play so I can have her cool grungy basement 😭

ModtheSims has a "sims need less space to play guitar" mod which is really useful as sims never play guitar where you want them to lol OhRudi's "Guitar needs less space for playing"

There are, in case this is of interest to you, also two mods called "sims need less space," and "pets need less space," that I think are based on the original guitar one (conceptually), but solves the problem differently so that it becomes less of an issue overall, instead of just per-activity! They're on MTS as well, though I forget who they're by at the moment!

@@mackenziedesire7515 I think they're also by OhRudi! They truly help sooo much, I mainly got them to fix the terrible horse routing issues lol but now sims are so much less in each others way waiting over NOTHING it's incredible

Whenever I play in Bridgeport, I always help Polly out by giving her a better job and editing her place or let her move in with a romantic interest.

I love how... not /easy/ but I guess *straight forward* it is to get out of poverty in the Sims 3. I made my self as a sim and entered the painter career to the end and it made me SO rich it wasn't even funny (and I had the neurotic trait to be the foot in for my General Anxiety disorder 😭 imagine getting rich with a mental disorder in the real world 😭) I have never felt more jealous of a bunch of pixels in my life. I don't even paint, I draw, but the "Starving Artist" stereotype exists for a reason. 😭 I wish it worked like that in real life but no, life CAN'T be straight forward like that. Not under capitalism lol... Great video as always, Ryan! 🫶

Either your standards are too high, or my standards are too low because between your build and the Glass pillar's apartment, I really enjoyed how simple and charming it is 😩 I wouldn't mind rooming in either of those places tbh!

that's because the game treats jobs as a way for you to make money, not as a way for you to make a tiny bit of money making way more money for someone else

in ts2 it’s so much harder to get rich for sure! it takes a lot of time especially doing rags to riches. chance cards r rlly the only way to make big bucks quickly but it can go VERY badly if you choose wrong!

It's because housing for the most part is affordable, transport is free and if you want to, you can have no bills with just a 10,000 lifetime award to get rid of them

The story of Polly is really sad. She's used to one of the richest family in the Bridgeport but because of her family business being bankrupt now she's all alone.

If you're interested there's a mod that makes it so it takes less space to play the guitar (there's one for the bass too)

I just did this this week, I hoped you’d do a video on Polly too 😊 btw her flat is really big compered to a lot of other apartments in Bridgeport, if you can get past of not having a window it can be renovated nicely, i dumpsterdived her a lot of furniture 😅 i actually changed her lifetime wish of having 20 friends, i feel like it didn’t make any sense and she became a writer, she wrote books about her family and she married Matty, one of her guy friends

It's a shame the inheritance reward got completely outclassed by the genie lamp. 10x the money (or other benefits), 0 'coincidental' deaths...

There's a much easier and far more profitable way of doing this with playing for tips. Join the singer/acrobat/magician career. First do the sing-a-grams to get started(singer) and then perform for tips in 2 popular locations doing each location every other day. Don't do gigs to prevent getting a permanent one until you can play at the stadium at which point you will be best friends with the whole town. Once you can play at the stadium get a permanent gig there and earn $25k+ a week working for just a couple hours. Maybe 3-4 weeks total time. Rabbit hole careers are better for large families to get some of them out of the house for 8 hours, for making friends or money they are not all that good. Also a tip for playing for tips... don't choose or add your sim when starting, go through every household in the town and sell their musical instruments. They won't buy a new one and therefore will not play them. Once nobody has one then choose or add your sim.

Polly has zero problems except for poor financial planning: her basrment is very exprensive. I moved her to a modest apartment, and she got enough funds to start writing. In a few weeks she was a famous and successful vampire romance book writer. Vampire lovers in real life included.

Hey, Ryan. If you ever play through this again, might I suggest getting the "Dusty Old Lamp" reward rather than "Inheritance". Both cost 30,000 points but "Inheritance" only gives you around 30,000 to 40,000 Simoleans. On the other hand, the "Dusty Old Lamp" Genie gives you 3 wishes of which one is 'Fortune.' Wishing for Fortune will net your sim 100,000 simoleons. If you do this three days in a row, that's 300,000 simoleons vs. the 30,000 to 40,000 from "Inheritance." Thanks for the video, mate. Cheers.

I love Polly! She's the founder of my Northern Winds Legacy Challenge. She married Matty and moved to a Kingsbury (a CC world.) They had one child named Maxwell who eventually became a werewolf. She fell under the Northern Wind curse which forced her to move to different worlds frequently. She just couldn't accept growing old and eventually earned the reverse aging then anti aging potions. She lived to see her great-great grandson then died while attempting to turn some lead to gold.

After watching this through a few times I'm no longer sure what the backstory is supposed to be... The Maloneys "disappeared from society"? What. Did they go bankrupt so hard they popped out of existence? Did they tragically die of poverty? Did Polly fall out of the moving truck when they were leaving town out of embarrassment? I don't understand how she can be the only one left

Yeah, I filled in the backstory when I played as her. As a teen, she fell in love with the butler's son, and her father disinherited her. Then he fired the butler who took a job in Monte Vista, taking the son with him. Polly was sent away to boarding school and eventually fell in line and back in favor with her father. However, Polly's parents died on the way to the lawyer's office to amend the will to reinstate her inheritance, so all their property was sold and the money was given to charity. Polly, technically homeless, has snuck into the basement of their old building and is living there secretly.

How do u get your sims to run so smoothly? I have a really good pc and sims 3 is running worse than on my hella old laptop... I have manually make it run on one cpu and it's super laggy:(
