Broken! very well repaired. this mini tool not for car wheels and next level brocken again😄
@BrokeLifeEU4 ай бұрын
Thank you! The C3 version of this is very problematic. The person I got this from used it only as intended, that is to say for screws in soft wood. The impact mechanism I put in it is from an impact wrench. So the combination of the new impact mechanism and anvil for an impact wrench and the body and internals of an impact driver should account for an impact wrench with high RPM. All of this resulting in high impacts per minute so a good torque number.

Strange thing, mine broke too, after i started using it like an impact wrench. Before that i used it to drive long wood screws into wood, and it worked flawlessly for hundreds of screws, but as soon i started using like impact wrench on my car, it broke after undoing 5-6 nuts.
@BrokeLifeEUАй бұрын
They made them to a very low budget it seems and saved mostly on the metals for some reason. The impact mechanism and the drive gear on the motor are really common issues on them. They break after a bit more force is required of them. That said the impact driver you see in the video I got off someone who used it inly for screws in wood and it still broke…
@powermosАй бұрын
@BrokeLifeEU probably older versions are stronger, a friend of mine has an old one and is used heavily for years and it still works. I returned mine to lidl and got my money. A few weeks ago i bought another one, i have to open the package to check which version it is.
@BrokeLifeEUАй бұрын
For sure the first version, the A1 is indestructible. The B3, which is one of later ones is also really good. You probably got the newest D3, which is not as powerful as the C3 you had, however might be more durable.

@@BrokeLifeEU I just bought the D3 and B3 from my local Lidl. The new 1/4 bit holder requires to unlock it when inserting the bit tool, not just when removing it. Based on very limited testing the D3 starts impacting sooner compared to B3 and seemed overall less powerful with slightly more wobble on the chuck. The chuck on the B3 is almost perfectly straight. I can’t wait to check your comparison on it as it’ll help me decide which to keep long term.
@OGROMETALBROTHERАй бұрын
When I tried the machine, it failed again. When the percussion works, the rotor bearing locks again. I disassembled the machine again. I separated the fan as much as I could from the back cover and reassembled. The next day, I used the machine as I thought I would like to break it. Screw and drill logs, maximum power. The machine works perfectly.

I think they are about equal in terms of defects. I have seen so so many broken C3s that you would not believe. One of the issues is a broken drive gear which is easy to fix, the other one is a broken impact shaft which is next to impossible to fix reliably.

how much different is the internals to an actual impact wrench when compared to a impact driver? you think this could be why these fail as people are using them as a impact wrench and theyre not beefy enough internally?
@BrokeLifeEUАй бұрын
Not much different to be fair. The gears are different, contributing to higher RPMs on an impact driver. the rest is basically the same. However with this model in the video they made the shaft holding the impact mechanism together very thin. That is the part that breaks most often. On top of that it breaks even if you use it for just screws and nothing like the bigger bolts on car wheels. It’s just that fragile. The one in the video for example I got from someone who used it for screws in wood which should be what it was designed for and what it is best at. But still it broke after a short while. I think they fixed that in the newer model by using a thinner spring in the impact mechanism. Yea that means less power, however it also means less force on the internals and in turn a longer life duration for the tool.

Could you give me the link for that belt sander attachment on the grinder? Or is it just the 10 euro one from aliexpress/temu? Is it good?
@BrokeLifeEU2 ай бұрын
I got it from aliexpress for like €10. The specific link is no longer active but it is just a generic belt sander for an angle grinder attachment. It is nothing special to be honest, you still have to do most of the work. The only thing it is good for is for sanding wood but even then it fell apart. But on sale you can get them for like €5 so if nothing else at least it is not too costly to try them out.

I wonder, if with this 1/2 mod it is any better (higher torque) than PPDSSA 12 A1?
@BrokeLifeEU2 ай бұрын
With all the fixes I made in the video it is basically like the original with a 1/2" anvil. That means that it would be more powerful than the PPDSSA A1 12. But do I recommend going through all this in order to fix this? Honestly I can't say I do. The parts alone cost nearly as much as the tool now.
@SQBANY132 ай бұрын
@BrokeLifeEU this one's specs say it has 223Nm, while PPDSSA has 300, and 350 for unscrewing. Does it really come that high? And how PDSSAP 12 A1 be at only 170, when its only difference (at least from the outside) is 1/4 hex instead of 1/2...
@BrokeLifeEU2 ай бұрын
PDSSAP A1 12 and PPDSSA A1 12 are somewhat close on the outside, however completely different on the inside, not one part will fit the other. They are that different. In terms of the PDSSAP 20 in its 1/4" form it does have 226Nm, however when you change the anvil to a 1/2" I guess because of the larger mass of the anvil and not having an adaptor to rob you of power I have managed to unscrew very tight and rusty bolts that the PPDSSA did not manage to unscrew. I can't speak to any Nm claims but just experience.
@SQBANY132 ай бұрын
@@BrokeLifeEU oh, now you started to convince me :D thanks :D
@BrokeLifeEU2 ай бұрын
That said the PPDSSA A1 12 is smaller and lighter, with the 5Ah it can do 95% of the work on your car so if there are no rusty bolts you might like it better. 350Nm claimed by Parkside is a bit of a stretch I think, but up to 300Nm it will be fine.

Nice vid, a lot of work and effort invested 👍. Still I doubt it is worth it taking into account the overall cost. There is a lot other DIY brands similar or better than Parkside for comparable price so not sure if there is any good reason to repair it. Especially since there are some mayor changes to the construction applied and there is no guarantee it will last long as it is now.

Thank you so much! I don't think it is worth the trouble now, only if you like to make things difficult. That said I bough this Dayi 2106 head assembly from a seller on eBay for 10 euros including postage about a month ago. Now they have increased the price to about 2.5 times that. It is best to either return it and claim the warranty or look for some used parts to get it running. The option that I present in this video is a last resort but still it might help someone or be interesting to watch to others. Took me quite a long time to find the parts to fit this but got there in the end. Also I have lent it to a friend to use so we'll see if it breaks anytime soon.
