I would love to see the pedestrian paths landscaped. It has to be done. Additionally, I think you should add a monorail from the train station to the subway stop along side the park for better connectivity

I agree! if the whole city is too much of a project, it would, "be appropriate," to do it for the areas that already have an emphasis on pedestrian traffic and landscaping i.e. the park city and the transit-oriented development.

In the landscaped alleys, you could alternate each path with palm trees or shade trees. Not only would this give variety, but it would create a pattern of distinction between neighboring blocks. Pedestrians could also choose between views and shade, depending on their preference.

You should keep the disasters DLC in mind. The newest aeras of the city are probably out of the radio tower range, and I believe there's only one shelter for this massive city. Maybe that rock formation in the oil industry would be a nice place to fit a small radio tower or a small shelter? Great job, btw. It really is a stunning city.

An interesting idea to see if you could pull off is something like Grand Central Library or such. Something with more gravitas than a local library, that's been there for eons, maybe as a center piece of an area of Museums or a park like the National Mall. Love the episode as always and my vote is for the new park paths, I like the alleyway look as well!

I've really enjoyed the paths between blocks and incorporated them into my latest build, with a slight modification: they all start as gravel and I upgrade them as the city develops. When the roads they connect to are upgrade from gravel to normal roads I upgrade them to pavement, then when the area gets upgraded to higher density or land value I upgrade the path again and landscape. I feel it gives my city some variety and helps break up the same path style being everywhere instantly.

Love how the city looks from above now. Used to just kind of abruptly end before the industrial area was connected to the rest but the new development gives the whole city a sense of realism. Idk if you're planning this in the future at all, but it would be cool to see some neighboring small town connected to the city throughout the map. Maybe a little farming town way out near the edge somewhere after the 81 tile mod gets added or something.

I'd love a detailing episode in which you take a glance over old areas of the city and take another look over them and add those little touch ups that turn a nice area into a great area. Also, the number of cyclists using the cycle ways are amazing, if this was a real city it would most likely have the title of healthiest city/ possibly have an annual international cycle event throughout the city.

(Commented after finally being able to watch the episode!) I feel like "Eminent Domain Day" should be a national holiday, at least in Verde Beach.. maybe we can even light some bonfires to celebrate it :D To reiterate it, I love the refinements you made to this new development, I think they elevate the neighborhood(s) to yet another level of awesomeness! :) The park really benefitted from the removal of the bridge, and extending Ocean Ave is a great idea :) And it's kinda crazy how many tourists are visiting the city! Over 2k using public transport, wow! VB is a real travel destination :) Also what I noticed is that if my eyes (and my memory) don't deceive me, the large city entrance roundabout close to the Institute is still unchanged. If I remember correctly, you said quite a while ago that you wanted to rework that thing a little bit to improve the traffic entering the city, so I guess I'll take that opportunity to remind you about it, just in case :) Don't want to be that annoying guy, I just noticed it and remembered that it has been a while since you talked about it :D Generally, glancing at the traffic heatmap gives me the impression that a little traffic improvement episode might be on the horizon, which I would absolutely enjoy :D But it's probably better than it looks in the overview. Around 15:45 you ask us for our opinion on the new configuration in Randall Point, and literally 30secs before that I thought to myself "Man, it would be kinda nice if those paths would be lined by some trees and greenery, maybe I should suggest it!" :D Sooo, I absolutely love the new configuration and I feel like the whole neighborhood would benefit from it! In case you are afraid of going a bit overboard with the trees, maybe you could try to give every other block or so that special treatment, but I guess that kinda depends on the bigger picture :) Generally all the landscaping you added in this episode really make a huge differnce for me! Really beautiful! Verde Beach is looking more and more stunning after every video :) A very minor thing I just noticed: At around 19:28, there is one junction without stop signs on Sunset :) Thanks a lot for the episode, I really really loved it as you can see :D Verde Beach is so awesome, it makes me happy :)

(Commented before the actual premiere!) The thumbnail makes me very happy :D Unfortunately didn't have time to comment on the last episode, but especially the bridge right through the park kinda defeated the original vision that I believe went into the planning of this whole development. To me it feels like the original idea was to have an unbroken view from the subway/botanical garden straight to the train station, which is obviously totally blocked by the bridge :D So tunneling is in my opinion the better option. BUT I wonder if it would be even better to just not connect it at all. You did explain in the past that tunnels are sub-optimal because for some people they are more problematic than others, which I totally agree. So, again, I wonder if the best option would actually be to just leave it out entirely. But I guess this tunnel is entirely for cars and not for pedestrians, so I guess it's not really a problem anyways so it seems to be actually the best solution :D My second thought was that the train station is kinda underwhelming, but since it's vanilla-ish, you unfortunately can't do much about it. I feel like the prominent position at the head of the park deserves some really grand and awesome looking train station building, which isn't really a thing in vanilla C:S. Thanks a lot for making these changes and showing us! Really looking forward to the episode :)

Remembering back, I was often told that you don't plant trees above shallowly covered concrete constructions, as the roots can penetrate the concrete and break it with time. A lot of embasys are located in thoses districts, in Verde Beach, could make a nice naming after a turistc / residencial low densedy district. The tunnel through the park is great, much better than the bridge. The design details on the foot paths is a welcome bit of extra detailing. I’d have no problem with a detailing episode focusing on the pedestrian areas, maybe vary the landscaping in different parks of the city. Also having a building naming episode, there are a lot of very tall significant buildings in the downtown now - office skyscraper - etc just doesn’t cut it. Giving a bit more of a story to who owns the buildings, what corporations exist in VB would be interesting.

There's a pretty large area in between the newest neighborhoods and the forthcoming nature reserve. How about building a trade/ liberal arts school there? At level five they unlock some special schools that provide bonuses to certain city services, and the buildings are beautiful. Its right by the train station and has good access to both parks and roads. Comparing with the Goodall Institute it seems to have enough space. Would love to see it! Got up especially at 5:30AM to watch this. Was not disappointed. 13:55 I have a suspicion that you forgot to lay water pipes under the extended Ocean not only in this episode but in the previous one as well, Just because the street is named Ocean, doesn't mean the residents have water. 14:49 The second path you made connects just off the junction, leaving one small building. It has an amazing view all the way down the road to the sea, but it denies that view from several buildings behind it. I think it would have been better to use eminent domain to remove that building, allowing the path to connect orthogonally to the junction, preserving the view. 17:19 The park paths look better IMHO and would be easier to walk, skate, and bike than the sandy, slanting paths you had previously. Despite your thoughtful placement and the lampposts, those paths sometimes looked like Cow Paths or Desire Paths forged by residents trampling through vegetation, not by the city. That said, I wouldn't want to see the park paths everywhere. A certain wildness is suited to areas such as around the green city and the woods near the TV stations. 17:52 Way to go on leaving that odd junction in the path. Perfect is the enemy of good. 19:04 This subway line could do with another stop or two. 20:29 This connecting was fine for a long time and only recently became congested. I think it's the result of removing a major connection to the outer road a few episodes ago. You should add more connections into the outer road, and roundabouts would be best. 21:37 Still think a roundabout there would be the best solution. It would be a landmark for the entrance into the industrial area, and a better termination point for Bass Street. Plus, not having King Street directly across from Bass Street would make the name change more palatable. Once again, here's a low-grade 2AM mockup: ibb.co/dcz7rH6

\o/ wooo the zoning got fixed! I like the idea of the landscaped alleys, though in my heart I know those being purely pedestrian facilities would be unlikely... parking access and such feels more likely. which in a neighborhood, makes sense. I guess I'd say, in the fancier/newer neighborhoods do the self-levelling, but in old town leave the jankier ones? helps it feel more aged. Still, might be fun to see you go back to old town and do a little redevelopment at some point. I'm so torn with the strip part. I LOVE it so much. it's gorgeous. But my disabled butt is looking at it going "I have no clue how I'd get from one end of the park to the other if I *was* trying to go train to subway", cuz I just can't walk that far. I guess the answer is I'd transfer at the hub instead of there, though, is the answer. Only reason I bring this up is cuz I feel like in a real city, it'd be logical/ideal to have a bus line or tram line running around the park... but in the game, that'd just be more backups, cuz the cims who can walk don't look at the packed busses and go "eh, I'll walk instead". So I wouldn't feel like it's right to try and do a bus line through there within game logic, even though I'd be upset by there not being one there irl.

Two thumbs up on the self leveling park paths. Maybe you could make each path area's landscaping themed so they are each their one unique destination.

Love the episode! And doesn't bother me at all if the b-episodes are longer than the a's. Also, I don't remember if you did it last time, but you might need to turn off intercity trains on the new station since it's connected to the outside line.

Loved it! Maybe convert one of the park paths into a bike path to connect both sides of the park? I wouldn't want to bikr all the way around

Another great episode. I love the chill / relaxed vibes that your videos have. I also get some nice tips for my city builds. Please keep them coming! Also, I feel that the landscaped alleyways is an excellent idea.

A solitary rock feature in the gated area where the botanical garden was would look amazing and yes, self leveling paths 100%

I have one *slight* suggestion about the one-way couplet around the park: reverse the direction on it. My thought is that, as a driver, it would be much easier to be presented with a right-hand turn at each end if I wanted to get to the other side than it would be to have to deal with a left turn onto a 4-lane collector with a median...

I love the new park, but may I suggest adding fire watch towers and/or nature reserve watch towers in the corners on the metro end? The view from the top would be extra fantastic.

A last monorail connecting the subway to the train station would great for this area. A tram if you don't want to ruin views, but would need to stash a depot somewhere.
