Scary process if you don’t have experience taking apart small electronics. Also if you don’t have the correct tools for it like the correct screwdriver size, don’t bother or you’ll rip the screws

Just had it open and one of these ribbons came loose got a bit spooked so tried to reconnect it succesfully and closed the case up again quickly, but I should probably do this one of the triggers is shit (got this dsi xl that i recently bought for 40 euro)

Hello, thanks for the concise video. I followed each step, and adequately cleaned the shoulder buttons with iso and q-tips. They still don’t work unfortunately. Do you have any other suggestions?

It sounds like you'll have to replace either the button or the ribbon cable

If cleaning doesn’t work they will have to be replaced unfortunately. They usually are just dirty so I would double check and do a deep clean.

7 months late but it's most likely corrosion on the contacts for the button. The rubber part that he cleans in the video is the housing for the contacts, if you carefully remove the rubber you can get access to it. Youll need to scrape it with a razor blade to remove the corrosion and it will work. This is a little trickier and more difficult than the "fix" in this video

Couldn't you have just replaced the backplate and just take everything out of the bad one and put it in the good one unless the issue was deeper

super simple repair compared to resoldering the charging port (easy if skilled otherwise you might risk ruining it)
