I have a 2014 and I can tell you that this is the MOST ANNOYING thing about these cars. I'm only 5'7", but the door not staying open, especially on a hill, is insanely frustrating. thanks for this. thats been annoying the hell out of me for the duration of my BRZ ownership, and you've shown me the exact part i need to make my door behave again. annoyance tip from me, this should be on your list: get some wide angle side mirrors. the blind spot on this car is really bad with the stock mirrors. it was driving me nuts for a while, so i went looking around the internet, and there are plenty of after-market mirror options with just a bit of a convex curve. its way better, i highly recommend it.
@skyty0
@skyty0 Жыл бұрын
Not to say that the new mirrors are a bad choice, but my FR-S has fantastic visibility, better than most cars I've owned. You sure your mirrors are set up correctly??
@ralkia
@ralkia Жыл бұрын
@@skyty0 yeah my '17 86 has great blind spot visibility, at least in comparison to my '03 camry that was the only other car I've driven longterm. I'm close enough to the mirrors to where I don't really even have a blind spot. I check over my shoulder just in case but it's never been an issue. The visibility out the rear leaves something to be desired, but that's the case with all cars that meet modern crash safety standards

I remember working only on Subaru's (cause that was all I owned) in the 80's. I kept telling everyone 10,12,14,17,19,21,22,30,32,36mm sizes used. I had even removed the 11,13,15,18, etc sizes from my toolbox. Years later, I had bought a Ford and found a use for the 11,13,15, and 18 sizes lol. Now, they are all in my toolbox. I did work on a 2006 Outback and the caliper hose to the caliper uses a 11mm socket. Perhaps that is aftermarket?

Mr Subaru, can you shed any additional light on the ongoing battery failure issue with 2017 and 2018 outback’s and legacy’s? (And other years and models). 2 of my close friends have had severe battery failure issues with no acceptable resolution by the local Subaru dealer. One friend had his failed battery replaced 2-3 times after not starting in his garage. After no resolution of the issue by the dealer, he sold it to an online dealer and bought a Honda cr-v. Another friend had same battery probs with his 2018 (?) legacy. The dealer pulled out his entertainment/map system and said ok it’s fixed, here you go. They made a weak offer to sell him a new car as alternative. In your opinion mr Subaru, what is really going on with these cars that are destroying the battery? Subaru days are numbered if this keeps up. Thanks. Ps. Could it be a bad controller area network module? Poor software or something like that?
