I love the fact that you’re taking two dead trucks and creating one good working truck.

Best thing is *NO ONE GOT HURT* ! Yes it is a lot of work - all those little things PLUS! I think we *ALL ENJOY* your builds cuz we feel like we are there with you (well that's how you make me feel anyway!) Nice that you have a solid GAME PLAN and are sticking to it. When you show the other owner, he may say, NOT Chevy, I had *GMC* ! Thanks!

Very handy that you have other vehicles you'll be repairing or using for parts in your small "junk yard" that you can get needed parts from. It always pays to hang onto anything useful in case it's needed later. Nothing worse than getting rid of something and finding you needed it later. The biggest issue is storing everything and knowing what you have and where it is. Hopefully you have a good memory!

Just found this from shorts! Im very excited to see how much the tottal cost is. Im going to guess 37k after everything is said and done. 17k is the tottal for buying both vehicles. Very excited!

We shall see. out of curiosity how you come up with that number?

@SalvageMasterV not even gonna BS you it was pulled out of my ass with pure speculation. Nothing is ever stright forward when rebuilding anything. And I figured as long as the power train is soild enough 20k in other parts and any misc item you may need to buy in today's market 20k.

Not surprising that the frame is bent, you were pretty much expecting that to be the case. But a trip you your buddy's frame shop and that will be fixed. Hopefully you can record fixing the frame when you do it.

that used shroud for the fan you put on is missing all the rubber insulation that sealed up against the upper and lower shrouds
@SalvageMasterV10 ай бұрын
The first one you saw I tried to install that is design until 2017. 2017 and up have different design, and the rubber seal is on the different shroud that is on the radiator. If you look where I show what needs to be hooked up after lowering cab on the frame, you can see that.

@SalvageMasterV, I have a question. What happens when you are finished when it comes to registration? Here it is illegal to tamper with a VIN in any way and both VIN stickers are on the cab. So here that would constitute as an emalgamated vehicle and one would have to apply for a new VIN through ICBC in order to register or insure the vehicle. So what happens where you are?
@SalvageMasterV10 ай бұрын
state patrol will assign new vin

I was wondering how you can turn a GMC into a Chevrolet, so I searched online and I found that GMC makes GMC and Chevrolet trucks and most of the parts for the same year model are interchangeable, other than for variations in the models. Being in Australia, I don't know that much about American vehicles.

No point, the frame is waxed. If I paint over it, it won't do anything. im not willing to take everything off to strip that wax to paint frame. If it would be SIMA build, I would definitely do it.
