A couple of things. We run an ear saver on the transmission. It saves the ears on the Saginaw 3 speeds. We have a local guy to rebuild our transmissions, he recommends using 30w engine oil in the transmission instead of gear lube. We’ve been running the 30w motor oil for several seasons and had no lubricant related issues with our transmission

Back in my automatic days I ran rubber/poly trans mounts so I tried that when I switched to a 3 speed, after breaking a couple I listened to Kyle Allen and switched to a solid mount and no issues since. I just saw Beau Miller the other day, he ran the 2 day show at Chico, not sure if you know he's Olin Crain's grandson. I've known him since he was a little kid tagging along with Olin in the Orland pits.

Just picked up an 010 block high nickel gonna try and push 500-600hp through it for our B-mod. I’m just debating should I cheat and get a lightweight crank or just go normal. Does a lightweight crank make that big of a difference?

Ive only ever ran standard weight forged cranks. The lighter ones are nice but honestly not worth the extra money in my opinion.

@@CherezianRacing never broke a trans. Years ago, my brother killed the back half of his modified and it just sheared the urethane mount when everything shifted. His powerglide survived and those bell housings aren’t that great.

I ran solid motor mounts and just a stock trans mount, just because its what I had, when you think about it with solid motor mounts there is going to be no movement in the transmission at least torque related, and since you have solid motor mounts your not going to eliminate any vibration, I see no benefit with one mount or another just run what ya got handy.
