Wow thank you so very much for sharing all this good information on how tight the quilt should be and how you showed how much space between the bars should be. And how the needle should be. Very good to know all the things you talk about on your tutorial❣️✂️🧵🪡👍🏼💖💗💕💓

I just want to say a heartfelt thank you. After hours of trying to fix the thread break I came online and found you. I never heard of the batting thing so I tried it and OMG it fixed it. Quilted for 3 hours without breakage. Thank you thank you thank you

@@zorina831 oh good!! I just had 5 thread breaks on a quilt yesterday. The best fix was moving the needle to 5:30 and slowing my computer to 40% speed. Happy Quilting!! Angie

Thank you for this video! We’re working on our first quilt and struggled with thread breaks including some where neither thread was broken. We watched the video and rethreaded (again!) following every single step. And loosened the quilt a bit. Not sure which thing worked, but we just quilted a whole row with no thread breaks!

You made my day. First day using new Amara and right away getting fake thread breaks after tying off. Thanks to you, I could look at the thread sensor and sure enough my tension needed to be increased to let the spring go over the sensor and make sure I was needle down when starting the tie off Thank you!!

Thank you so much for such a great video. It has helped me a lot. My long arm was breaking stitches as soon as I started stitching. The tip that helped me was to make sure the needle was up before doing lock stitches. Once I did that, I sold my first perfect row on prostitcher. Thank you so much for all of your help!

Oh good!! Just be careful if you try to adjust your thread break sensor. If you tighten that screw too much you can break it. Then the head would need to be opened and the sensor replaced and I think those are over $200 for a replacement. You just want that set screw snug but not tight! You are so welcome! We are happy to help!

Thank you! I think I tend to tighten the quilt too tight, and I'm never 100% happy with my tension so I'll give your tip a try to see if that helps.

Can you explain more on the batting up top?
@angiesanswers91 Жыл бұрын
Yes! That helps to pull off any extra lint from the thread. It also helps keep the thread smooth as it pulls off the cone. It’s just a small strip of poly batting folded up.

what causes eyes lashes on the back of the quilt
@angiesanswers912 жыл бұрын
Great question! Usually not having the thread all the way between those silver disks will cause eyelashing. If there isn’t enough tension on the top you can see the eyelash on the back. It could also be if you aren’t using the same thickness (type) of thread top and back and using the same color top and back. Then you can see eyelashes with a thin batting. Batting is one of the most important factors for a good tension. If it’s a thin batting or too flat, then you have to work really hard to get the stitches to lock in the center of the batting so you don’t see eyelashes. My best advice is always use the same type of thread top and back and try to always use the same color top and back. If you use different colors or a variegated thread then double the batting to help with tension. Hope that’s helps!

Mine is breaking when it stitches up and to the left. Im so frustrated.
@angiesanswers9111 ай бұрын
That is the hardest way for the machine to stitch. You can try to turn the needle to about 7:30 and see if that helps. If not try 4:30. That helps see if the timing could be tightened up to deflect the needle a little more. If turning the needle doesn’t help then it could be a tension issue. Hope that helps!

@@angiesanswers91I found that if I use mr needles (134mr), I no longer have the breaks when I stitch in those directions. MR stands for multi range- meaning multiple directions. Also some are titanium coated- not good for batiks- they are a slight ball point needle. I generally use size 18.
