Fixing up a 2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. Part 1 - Cleaning The Carburetor

This is a Polaris Sportsman from my side job that they wanted me to take a look at and get it fixed up. I rode it around for an hour and didn’t really find much so I gave it a look over and decided to clean out the carburetor on it. We’ll be looking further into it next!

I have two 06 EFI 500 HO with the same problem you're having. Starts and runs great cold, then sputters and runs rough after reaching running temp. Your problem is the fuel sending unit in the tank. Your pickup screen has come apart, and bits and pieces in the bottom of the tank. Quantum fuel systems makes a rebuild kit for $100. That will fix your problem.

This one isn’t EFI but I had a Kawasaki that I had to do that to and it ran great after!

just a heads up NEVER put rubber in a parts cleaner the chemicals make the rubber swell dry and crack
