You might consider power raking your lawn, which is a great way to prepare it for seeding. Power rakers can be rented from your local tool rental facility. They're specifically designed for deep raking and dethatching, effectively removing dead grass and debris to ensure seed-to-soil contact. This can significantly improve the health and appearance of your lawn and since you're done, just some info for next time

@@adriane7841 If you set it up right and make your yard robotic mower friendly, you don't have to do anything. It just requires some solutions to stuff like fences or trees so the mower can get to all the grass around the objects (lol you'd have to weed-eat it with a regular mower but who wants to do that?). I personally like to have a small gravel patch around them anyway. That said, do not get a cheap unit, those will cause problems. But a nice one like Husqvarna Automower is intelligent enough to not get stranded with an empty battery etc.

You can make a flexible plastic, or thin metal rake, and attach it to the bottom of the mower, near where the bag clips in. Ive never had a remote mower, but where we use to live, my dad made rakes that bolted to the backs of the mowers, to break stuff up and loosen leaves as we made our 1st initial pass. Almost like a roller compactor, but a rake instead. Worth a shot since ur so crafty!
@DKBarie

If you haven't seeded already, I suggest you do one of two things. Either rent a walk-behind slicing seeder, which cuts the surface of the ground open and drops the seed into little trenches, or rent a walk-behind plug aerator which pokes in and pops out little plugs. Then when you broadcast the seed and fert., it will go into the holes. Either way, the goal is to get the seed IN the ground NOT ON the ground for much better germination rates. Where you have the really large bare spots, I would suggest the extra step of topdressing with leaf compost or peat moss after seeding. Bulk is much cheaper than bagged if you can get it locally.

Cool video bud. But you gotta remove all the brush and bushes around the tree and fence next video. Trimming the trees from the bottom up to about 8ft high cleans up the looks big time and a major trimming to that bush wall by the trailer. You have a beautiful property just needs a “Fresh hair cut look”

Hey Taylor little tip, its best to use one of those trash bins and cut a hole in the bottom of it. Put the trash bag in and fill the bag. Once its almost filled up you can pull it up a bit and fit some more but once its full you pull the trash can up and the bag should slide out under it. It saves me a bunch of time at work and you wouldnt need to hunch as much as well if you have a shovel or two.

You would’ve saved a bunch of time by buying a ride on mower with a bagging system from marketplace. Based on how much shade your back and side yard has, grass is going to be a constant struggle. Since you’re reseeding I’d imagine you’re going for Bahia - it’ll never happen. Bahia seeding will almost certainly fail. I’d suggest a resod, it’ll be cheaper and less frustrating. Hit it with some nitrogen and sea kelp and it’ll thicken up nicely.

I'd call the mower "Gonk". Gonks are those funny looking droids from Star Wars. Like a trash can with legs. What they actually are are walking batteries. They are mobile power sources. I bet you'll be able to get an autonomous module for that mower soon. So you can just tell it what day and what time to mow and not worry about it. I've been into RC long enough to know that almost anything RC can be made autonomous. Just needs a GPS and a control module that either replaces the receiver or attaches to the transmitter.

A 9010t echo blower will make light work of this whole property, I think the mower is a cool concept, but a good running zero turns time saving far outweighs the remote control factor. To each his own but I’d invest a few grand into good equipment and you’ll save time. Like you said in the factor demo, you can’t have all 3 quality, speed, and reliable. I was sceptical at first and thought of the RC mover as a novelty item (and I say that as a fan of everything RC). But your style of "co-working" with the Robbie makes a ton of sense. Personally i love mowing my lawn using a pushmower, i need the exercise. But man the novelty of that R/C mower is sure tempting.

I live over in Seminole County and just did this to my property over the last week. 700lbs of various brush dropped off at the dump. I just wanted to trim up one hedgerow in the front yard, and next thing you know I had too much stuff for the trash to pick up.

ATTN!!! , I wouldn't keep bagging it , you want to mulch up the grass clippings but not bag basically it gives ur lawn nutrients back and makes ur lawn greener , soil nutrients as well but just thought i would throw that out there

I’m only bagging this time because I’ll be planting seeds.

I feel maybe not a zero turn mower is needed.. but a regular riding mower with bagger option and also could tow your trailer would be better. The remote control seems cool, but I feel you just need to reset your landscape to make sense of upkeep to justify everything. That's why this remote control mower makes sense because your landscape doesn't make sense and is mostly not zero turn friendly which is what you want. But when a regular sized riding lawn mower could do more with a remapping of your landscape. would be better bang for the buck in the long run with the options avaliable for them.

I also live in Florida. And my parents home was just like that lots of sand not enough grass. Was hard work growing up cleaning that. Looks great Taylor keep up the good. Aways enjoy all your videos. Hope to see you race someday in person here in Florida.

An option might be to get a pull behind dethatcher and hook it up to Robo? Passover with the dethatcher to loosen them up and then passover to suck them up. Love this video!

If its that hot in florida, you may need to put white plastic over your full sun areas to get new grass seed to take this time of year.

You should just make a DIY composter, you're always gonna have falling leaves so you might as well turn it into useful fertilizer instead of putting it in piles and waiting for it to be collected. You can also make a compost bin for home use to cut down on how much you're throwing away, pretty much all food scraps can be composted.

Maybe put an old go pro on the front of the mower then you can sit in the shade and operate it.
