This kind of information is invaluable for a novice lifter, such as myself. To receive such in depth information so readily is a blessing. Thank you, Stefi!

Good info on the motor coordination. I had slow motor skills from extensive radiation and chemo therapy as a kid. And I have had to work extensively on my motor coordination in all my lifting and athletic endeavors. Great info. Thank you, Stefi.

People generally minimize the importance of stability and accessory work, including proper warm-ups and form. I was one of those people. After a break from years of competitive powerlifting I started getting back into it and as soon as I started going super heavy again, my lower back let me know. I couldn't even bend over for weeks. All because of weak lower core muscles, pelvic tilt, poor glute activation, and "winking" at the bottom by going too low. Edit: Talking about squatting specifically. The above was the issue.

Mid sticking point but always feel I could get it strength wise I just never hit it right

I have used the last pull down bar and hooking legs under the pad and make certain to engage Jay-Zalso the core is firing greatly to stabilize the back, a real reason why people get stuck in lower position on squat,as a result they do it faster to reduce their weakness with their core when in lower position.

Another issue i would like to point out when performing the glute ham raise with a flexed hip is that you dont use the glutes properly this way and makes you overcompensate with your lower back which could lead to a lower back injury
@NaruIchiLuffy5 жыл бұрын
Stefi is there a reason you don't use the machines when strengthening all the support muscles (adductors, hamstrings and glutes)? I've been having knee pain and figured I'd lessen the pain by strengthening these muscles. I'm doing barbell hip thrusts, leg curl machine and the adductor/abductor machine. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for such great tips. At 14:15 when you’re squatting with bands your torso is leaning forward. Is this okay? Your typical movement pattern is more upright is that correct? I see chests coming forward and butts leading the way first with myself and clients. Could this be quad weakness or is it something that might self-correct over time? We’re still getting stronger, just want to clarify. Thank you!

@MrChriz3335 жыл бұрын
hana ploe yes, I also think you should try out something called resistence stretching. You keep tension in the muscle while stretching it, over time it will remove trigger points, makes you more flexible and mobile at the same time. It helped me alot!
