Hi. I really like your work, the way you work, that is real mechanics from day to day. I live in Venezuela and I would like to have all the possible tools, it is my dream to have a well-equipped workshop, here it is too expensive, I am a mechanic by profession and passion many years ago. I congratulate you on your family, your home and your work, they are a blessing from God! and I like it a lot when they prepare lumpias! Hahaha A strong blow. Franz Dürre. "Sorry for my English"

Last year had a customer with a 2002 PT Cruiser (173k mi). Heavy trans leak, dropped pan, replaced with new pan, filter, and fluid. Now the customer is trying to blame me for transmission slipping. Throughout the years I also changed timing belt (111k), water pump, thermostat, radiator, starter, battery, fan motor, inlet pipe, cv, bushings, wheel cylinder, brakes/rotors. Some people love their cars haha.. Another beatiful day. God bless you and your family =]

Should you have filled that on level ground? Not on ramps
@erickcid70016 жыл бұрын
It shouldn’t matter on manual transmission I never had any problems keeping it titled on a jack stand and after I drive around for a few miles I check the manual trans fluid on level ground and it’s always on full mark and I’ve done a lot of manual transmissions” exchanging the fluid and clutch etc...obviously on automatic transmissions you should because there’s more space torque converter, etc automatics take more fluid too
@sirsweetness83326 жыл бұрын
Ka Wo What if it was under or overfilled at factory or previous owner as was in my case with my Camry? Level ground is best practice.
@eksine5 жыл бұрын
@@sirsweetness8332 if it was under or over filled then you simply ignore it.that's like asking what if my car is missing a wheel should I still only buy three tires? That's ridiculous what you're asking.fill it to the appropriate level no matter what level it was before
@sirsweetness83325 жыл бұрын
eksine You have the thought wrong. I am saying....to correctly fill you have to be on level ground. I understand how sensitive transmissions are to be under or over filled. Serviced several hundred in my day. My current vehicle was under filled from factory. It shifted terrible until I did my service on it and put in the correct amount then i couldn’t tell the shift points.

Great video, but car should be level when you drain and refill gearbox oil. Your setup of inclined driveway + ramp on front wheels probably caused insufficient draining and overfilling. Maybe you can take advantage of inclined driveway by putting the ramp on the other end and car facing the other way.
@erickcid70016 жыл бұрын
You think this man doesn’t know anything about fixing vehicles dude do you see all his videos in the past . And on manual transmissions it doesn’t matter I’ve change fluids and replaced a lot manual transmissions in the shop and in my driveway tilted up in floor jacks and besides i always check the fluid after doing a job on level ground I’ve never had any problems what so ever. However Automatic transmissions do cause more heat you do have to change the filter also and you do have to check the automatic fluid in most if not all vehicles while the car is running warm they do have very small spaces where as manual transmissions do not and it definitely doesn’t have a torque converter where fluid is always running through the impeller which imparts forces fluid in, which then rotates the turbine, sending torque to the transmission. HOT very hot that’s why you check most automatic transmission level and running to see if you have the right amount of fluid in them.
@TheMrMoric6 жыл бұрын
just stick to amount that is in manual and you cant overfill... and most drains are on back so tilted driveway helps

@@erickcid7001 Woah, WTF, calm down man. Who told anybody 'this man' doesn't know anything about fixing cars? (This man has a name btw, his name is Angel Fernandez.) I don't know why you're so upset and defensive. Nobody challenged anybody's intelligence. I (and others here) merely pointed out a practice that deviates from repair manual and standard guideline. I even suggested a way to turn his disadvantageous situation (inclined driveway) into his advantage. I don't quite understand why you had to bring up automatic transmission, but anyway, you're quite correct - automatic tranny being more sensitive about fluid level than manual gearbox. I might as well add that CVTs are more sensitive than automatic for that matter. It's true that manual gearbox can take a beating, but you definitely don't want to overfill gearbox oil to the point where the oil seal gets submerged.

I also have a small leak around the round button thingy under the radiator cap. Problem is when I tried to unscrew it I broke all the plastic ridges. So what should I do now? Would applying sealant just outside it fix the leak? Or do I need to go in a flat screwdriver and hammer it loose? Whats its purpose anyway...that thing is a real bummer with no obvious purpose.
