A pro tip I learned years ago, if you add +0.5-+1 degree to your outside cuts and -0.5-1on inside cuts, this will allow the points to meet first and with some pressure, they'll flex into a perfectly flush fit. You will also want to calibrate your mitre saw's mitre gauge using that protractor as your reference since most saws aren't perfectly calibrated/square either. Always best to stick to one measuring tool unless you're dealing with precision instruments

That's ok with timber, MDF is a completely different story 😜

By far the best video on KZbin in regard to installing base boards and using the best tools of the trade accurately to get the job done right.
@andrewhess9425 Жыл бұрын
Quick little pro tip for ya. I like what I see just if you are using the saw for a lot of cuts try to not flip the baseboard to the back side. Doing this can chip out the outter spot of the baseboard. Instead flip it upside down.

My miter only goes to 45, how am I supposed to do the cuts when the tool says 49?
@Grunttamer Жыл бұрын
@@206Nish what i would do is cut a piece of wood to like 10 then put that against the fence and then put the board against that and cut it at 39 indicated. if you put the piece in the right spot on the fence you should have your angle.
@206Nish Жыл бұрын

Good tips. My added tip... make sure your miter saw is adjusted and working properly before you rely on the angle scale & detents, as well as cutting perfect 90 degrees horizontal & vertical when returned to its "home" position. It will and does get knocked out of position, especially portable saws.

I have a Hitachi C10FSHC 10" and I'm trying to miter cut 5.5" wide boards...but the boards don't fit in the upright placement (flat against the fence) that you're cutting yours. On top of that, the saw maxes out at 45 degrees when tilted. Great video, tho. I looked at many others and yours was straight to the point! Thnx!

Just a side note on cutting odd angels. Those that don't have a detent that locks it in place , like the 45 degree notch. Found out the hard way, on any settings like the 47 he's doing. Lock the handle down or the saw can move back to the detent. !
