i am so happy you got to see Victoria Falls with so much water - it truly lives up to its name Mosi O Tunya (The smoke that Thunders), at my last visit there in 1999 there was just a few little waterfalls and the rest was dry. it is truly spectacular. thank you for sharing.

The power of that water ! If only they could tap into it the energy it could produce.
@Thebluelandy Жыл бұрын
It was very impressive! You stand there and think how it is even possible?!? it keeps going and going and going, it's nuts the amount of water that is flowing in the wet season. That's why we would recommend to come to Zambia when they are at the fullest! Thanks for your comment, as always 🤗👏
@mazuba10 Жыл бұрын
Well: 1. It's a UNESCO heritage site so not many 'alterations' can be made to the waterfall itself. 2. There's is actually a hydro electricity power station not too far from the falls that diverts a portion of the river via canals just before the falls that was built about 60 years ago.

They are very much alive, we can assure you that!! Kafue was a bit of a gamble as normally it would not be possible in March like we did it. Not only we were extremely lucky to find it dry, but the weather was extraordinary. Happy to share and thank you for commenting 🤩

perhaps time to invest in a radiator net! May be a good idea to remove the Td5 engine cover... most Td5's in Africa threw theirs out long ago. Unnecessary heat trap
@Thebluelandy Жыл бұрын
Hey, Yeah you are right! Buying a net was one of the first things we did after crossing to Namibia, ever since we didn’t had high Gras anymore. I was driving for quite some time without engine cover, and I decided to buy one and put it back on. It is significantly louder in the cab if you have the cover of. I have to say the engine is well designed, and didn’t overheat even in the extreme heat (55 degrees) we experience in Iran.
@greenleader758 Жыл бұрын
@@Thebluelandy Good investment :) I noticed my Td5 was 'happier' with the cover off living in South Africa with my Td5 - also helps see if new oil leaks develop!
@Thebluelandy Жыл бұрын
Spending so much time in driving as we do noise becomes an issue. We often leave the car in the evening with ringing ears 🙈 I spend a lot of times to seal all the oil leaks around the engine and I’m really proud it still is not leaking oil after 50k km. I hope it stays like that🤞

For the grass we usually use a small piece of shade cloth on the outside wrapped over the front grid tied from the front of the bonnet to the bottom of the bull bar. (I use bungy rope so I can put it on when there is grass and take it off when not and to clean.) Great video what an awesome adventure.

Great (and wet) episode. Zambia is indeed a beautiful country. Can u supply some info on that "laundry machine" you were using in the video. I find it of interest as I usually battle with useless 'contraptions' to do the washing on the run. Take it easy and enjoy !!
@Thebluelandy Жыл бұрын
Hey Henry! It is the scrubba wash bag. It is absolutely game changer! A lot more effective than hand wash. We use it mainly for underwear, tshirts and shorts. For bigger things we still need a washing machine. It is not cheap, but so worthy it! Our very good friends gifted us one before leaving and we don't want to miss it!

As annoying those little buggers are, tsetse flies are the reason human encroachment into the park is almost non-existent as they can be deadly to people and livestock, but not to wild animals.
