FJ Cruiser Seat-Delete Goose-Gear Install (timelapse)

Goose-Gear has just released the new V2 Seat Delete and Ballistic panel for the cargo area. I was lucky enough to be one of the first installs so I thought I would timelapse the install process. This is 3 units for a complete seat delete/sleeping platform. Rear cargo panel, 40% seat delete and 60% seat delete. You can get any configuration of 2 or all 3 like I did.
Install was pretty simple and straight forward. This is not meant to be an install guide but rather a show of the process and the finished look. Everything is reversible, no drilling or modification required to the vehicle or parts. Thanks to Goose-Gear for making such an awesome and perfectly fitting product and for giving me the honor of being one of the first.

Is the bottom insulated at all? Curious about the noise after taking out rubber matt. Thanks

Noise is quieter. It's wood, so it naturally absorbs vibration. Adding some sound deadening matt underneath during install would be a great idea too.

Are the Seats all the way back? How Much? And can you put the Rear seats back. Say if you ever needed them?

In the video seats aren’t all the way back. They’re in my normal driving position. They can go back. There’s plants of room. And yes, everything is reversible. I haven’t done it. I did plan to, but ended up not missing the rear seats at all.

are there any attachment points in the seat delete flat areas where you can mount and secure cargo systems?

Yes, there are T-Nuts embedded throughout the platform. You can thread in a number of Goose Gear anchors or your own.

@@troutriver58 depending on where you live you can go through on of their dealers or go through Goose Gear directly. That’s what I did. They are local to me. Very nice guys.

It honestly looks like there is a lot less space below the floor plane than before the mod. Not really seeing the benefit other than aesthetics.

There a decent amount of space below, I keep a spare axle and all my tie down straps under the platform. on the edges of both passenger doors I keep a first aid kit and some other quick grab stuff like wipes and towels and such. It's actually quite a bit. It's not a perfectly flat boxed space, there are contours of the vehicle to content with, which is my tie down straps and valuable stuff like that works so well. TBH, you're not doing this for the underneath storage. It's a nice to have but the platform is the goal for me..

Yeah, not really meant as a guide. But no, no additional holes needed mounts completely to factory holes. 👍
