This is by far THE ABSOLUTE BEST Kanken review I have seen and I've watched MANY! Thank you for helping me decide that the Laptop one was better for me. It drives me nuts how so many people refer to the classic as the laptop just because it has the interior sleeve which they ALL have. The Kanken laptop is the one with a designated zip pocket guys! i use the 15" and trust me, it's worth it. it fits bigger school supplies and a laptop pouch in the back that comes with strap pads. just my opinion but if you are going to buy i would recommend the 15" laptop. they are a lot smaller than you think ~ ☼

I was amazed by the advancement of tech. Back in 2016 a heavy duty 15 inch laptop won’t fit in a backpack designed for 15 inch laptop. I just got my kanken no 2 in the regular no laptop version, and I can put my 16 inch MacBook Pro inside. Good review ！

As long as you're ok with hauling a slightly bigger backpack, then yes it makes sense to me. You get more room overall. Your current laptop will fit. So will your next one if you decide to move up to the 15". Your laptop might slide around a little since it's in a bigger compartment but I don't think that's too big of a deal. If you end up going for the 15" backpack, please come back and share your thoughts to help others who may be wondering the same thing.

I'm considering buying one but I need to fit a 1.5 inch binder, folder, 2-4 one subject notebooks a 1 inch sketch book, and a pair of tennis shoes. I love the way they look but I'm so concerned with size. I have a Steven Universe backpack right now and it holds pretty much all I need and has a divider I put my notebooks in but i could live with out it if necessary.

The Kanken Laptop backpacks are suitable - they're lightweight and won't be bulkier than any other backpack that will carry a lot of books. However, if you're concerned about the comfort of wearing it with a lot of weight, you may want to consider a backpack with thicker shoulder pads. Typically though, backpacks with thicker shoulder pads will be bulkier.

Great question! To be 100% positive you're not buying a knock-off, I'd recommend purchasing the item that's "Sold by: Amazon.com". If a 3rd party seller offers the backpack at a lower price, I'd read that seller's reviews to see if other people have concerns about buying from them.

They're real. Purchased from Nordstroms, an authorized Fjallraven retailer in the US in 2016 before Fjallraven started putting Swedish flags in the bags. Protect yourself from counterfeits - only buy from authorized Fjallraven retailers. Full list linked in the video's description.

If anyone has a Dell 15 Inspiron 5000, the laptop will not fit the 15’ kanken bag :/ . I’m doing research now to see if the 17’ in is a good deal. Update: I didn’t buy the 17’ bag because im broke but the laptop should definitely in the 17’. Barnes and Noble sells a few bags so I went to the store and tested to see if my laptop would fit in the 15’. It was just a little bit to big, I could zip the laptop sleeve all the way. There was no 17’ bag for me to test but I still say, go for the 17’

Hello, thank you for your reviews, they're really helpful! I also read the comments. I have a question, it seems it wasn't mentioned yet, what would you say to the classic Kanken laptop 13"? Would it be too small or not? I have a 13" notebook. I would like to buy Kanken for work, but as I'm 4.9 feet, I'm a bit worried the No.2 15" might be a bit too big for me and everyday wearing. (The mini would be great :), but you cant put much inside.) Unfortunately they don't make the 13"laptop in No.2 version, only the normal No.2 version without the laptop compartment. Do you find the size difference between 13" and 15" to be visible? At the same time I would also like to use the bag for traveling. It's also hard to decide about the colors, I like the new alpine purple color but also dark olive looks nice. Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi. The size difference is slightly noticeable. I'd argue that how it looks is for others and how it packs is for you. The 15" No.2 packs slightly more, has a nicer fabric/finish but may look a bit bigger on your back. The 13" Laptop packs slightly less, doesn't have the nicer fabric/finish but may not look as big on your back. I think it comes down to the colors and whether you value the fabric or size more.

I bought the Laptop 15 version in purple colour and I'm very satisfied with it, it's really very comfortable to carry on the back with the comfortable straps and you can pack a lot inside. Now thinking about buying the RE mini for shorter trips. They're really good backpacks.

Both the Kanken Classic and Laptop backpacks should fit what you plan to carry. I'd recommend the Laptop version for the comfier straps.

ok so I have the classic one and a mini and a 17 backpack one. I think I might get the 15 backpack one even though my laptop is like 13inch. I just love having a big backpack so I can fit my water bottles

Without knowing if you'll be carrying a laptop and if so, what the size of your laptop is, I'd say 15-inch. It should be big enough to carry your books and supplies. You might find the 17-inch to be just a tad bit too big.
