I just started and man this game is hard to grasp. It's crazy how much you can do. I'm 40 and was on Elden Ring, but I'll be trying to figure this out now. It's very hard getting started but I'm not used to survival type games. It's fun so I'm hooked now.

Correction, there is a specific loot pool you pull from while fishing. There are alot of things you cannot get while fishing. Like flak bps and rex bps. However it is the best way to get your giga bps

he increased the quality of the loot, I tested it on my server with a multiplier of x1 and an ascending fishing rod with 500% effectiveness, and I assure you that a 0.6x fish can never give you a quality drop gold

Better loot if you go to the ice cave. If you can clear out the bears and wolves. You have 3 red crates 3 yellow crates and a pond of salmon to fish out of in between loot crates.

An important warning to everyone who watches this video from someone who has dozens of hours of fishing experience; Despite him saying his fishing rates are on the default setting, this is absolutely without a single shred of a doubt false, his fishing rates are MASSIVELY boosted. On top of this, his entire loot pool is altered and he fishes up multiple items in this video that you normally cannot get by fishing, such as flak armor blueprints. In this video a 0.5 fish gave him mastercraft and ascended blueprints, normally this would give you ramshackle blueprints IF LUCKY, a 0.7 fish for example would maybe drop a journeyman blueprint if lucky for comparison. The rods I use for fishing and getting the results above are always fishing rods between 300% to 400% in quality. Furthermore, Leech blood does not give improved fishing loot compared to honey or tree sap, the only difference between the 3 bait types is the max size of fish you can catch. Honey being the best, leech blood in the middle and sap being the worst (It's never worth using tree sap for fishing, ever.) The quality of the loot of a fish is purely dependant on the size of the fish, the type of fish (sabertooths being the best) and the quality of your fishing rod. Keep in mind that the level of the fish itself has zero impact on this as far as I know. One important thing to mention, the max size of fish is 2.4 (but I've heard 2.6 spawn *extremely* rarely too but I cannot confirm this). Because larger fish give better loot it might be tempting to go find a 2.3 or 2.4, but I MASSIVELY recommend to never try to catch anything above 2.2 in size. I myself once spent over 12 hours straight trying to catch a single 2.4 fish and failed. The only reason I could even attempt to catch this fish was because I was on singleplayer and had access to reloading my savefile 100 times because those fish love to commit self deletion and also despawn if you are close to catching them but the line snaps. My recommendation would be to go for fish 1.3 or above in size but below 2.2, though usually I often go for 1.5+ myself. Do not bother fishing with a rod below 200% quality. I hope this helps all of you.

Why don't you tell us you have fishing loot quality multiplier higher? You say you're on 1x settings, but loot is nowhere near this when played on 1x settings, even when catching big salmon with an ascended rod. You show us you get "crazy loot", but getting loot as shown in the video is only achieved by setting the loot quality multiplier very high. This video is very deceptive and makes it seem like you're just grasping for easy content/views. For anyone playing on official servers don't expect loot anywhere close to what is shown in this video.

Nice video, but as Ark admin of Clusters since 2018 and Dev for some mods, I can say Fish loot in this game no mater what map is always the same loot pool. You can actually find the loot pool on the ark wiki, it does not containt everything like u suggest, and if it does you most likely play on modded or non official. Those pools can also be configured by admins using the same code as replacing beacons or boss loot or even gacha loot. You make fair point getting a good rod, and using leech blood is in fact better then SAP, but can I point out Honey is actually the best, as it can boost the score up and also gets the fish on the hook faster. In this order is the best combo : HONEY , LEECHBLOOD, SAP and for the fish its Saber, Piranha, Coal (Also there is something such as RARE Sabers who are different from regular ones) those have doubble score and can give up to 15 BP's at once if coucht with 400%+ fishing rods. Thanks for the nice video tho, It actually really nice to see people fish and use this to get BP's as you clearly said, its overlooked by so many people. Nice spot to fish too ! Have a nice time on Ark and I liked the video 100% !

Are you able to fish inside the Skylord artifact cave? There's a lake with nothing but salmon, with levels upwards of 400. You can tame the wolves in that cave so maybe you can fish there? I havent tried yet but I think I should just to make sure

Getting the fishing rod from the Alpha dinos underwater is the problem, people already dislike the water in ark, and getting tames strong enough to fight the Alphas underwater is a hassle, then you have to go fishing......it's easier to just ghillie and bug repellant up and farm that Artifact cave with 9 loot drops

Hey quick question. So I play on beginner servers. I’ve got everything except on what the ark wiki calls the 3% I.e giga saddle, riot gear etc I see you get them but I can’t on beginner server and or single player. I only use apprentice rod on beginner But I have an ascendant rod on single player Is there a special way of getting the Rex giga saddles etc? I’ve been targeting 2.0x salmon with honey and leech blood. I’ve yet to see the special stuff any tips?
