This song is very emotional and it makes a lot more sense when you listen to the whole album; FKA twigs received incessant criticism for her relationship with actor Robert Pattinson, mainly from his fans, and also, in that time, she had cancer, so she was in a very emotional and vulnerable place. You could say this song is about being desperate for someone to be there for you, because she does everything for them and she doesn't receive the same, but I'd definitely add that some parts of this song refer to the pressure she had from racists, who consistently undermined her and called her ugly. She refers to the fact that those critics waited and watched for her to ‘mess up’ in the relationship to prove that she wasn’t a good partner for him, while Pattinson didn't take his part on defending her from the public eye. 'MAGDALENE' is an amazing album and it'd be fun to see you reacting to it!

Agree with all you said but 1 point. It wasn't cancer but were horribly painful uterine fibroids which are so painful & cause such misery for so many women. I heard she was all alone after he surgery & he was nowhere to be found. Rob never spoke up for her. He only cared about his career imo. I've heard from people who went to arts school with her that she is the most loving, sweet, earth child. He did not deserve her. She is better off with someone who is her equal & imho he was not. The way the fans and press over in GB treated her was inexcusable. Many have equated it to how Megan Markle was treated except Harry stood up for his family & said see ya.

@@debbiefox6846 no one knows what goes on in people's lives. It's obvious that they loved each other very much. He proposed and Twigs said yes. Robert spoke on the Howard Stern show about the haters and how he just ignored them. He went on to say that the hate really effected Twigs. She left him. Despite all they endured he still wanted to marry her. But Twigs probably needed more support from him idk but she was insecure too. It's hard being a celebrity, it's hard being in a relationship with someone of another color because of others people's ignorance and jealously. I think the world is getting better. Look at Zendaya and Tom Holland. They seem very much like soul mates and their fans love them.

Sad Day, from her latest magdeline project would be another good video to watch. Her first album LP1 had some great visuals too worth watching and listening to. She’s an all around great artist and for this song she made it with the video in mind first. She new exactly the story she wanted to tell and the scenes and imagery and cinematography she needed to capture it. And she does all her own stunts
