unrelated but question… what is the difference between falsetto & an aspirate vocal onset? both techniques can overlap chest and headvoice but how do we differentiate the two

That's a great question. One is voiced the other isn't. It's effectively the same difference between the kuh sound in cat and the guh sound in gutter. Put another way when something is unvoiced, the folds do not oscillate/create a pitch. So an asperate is when the folds are open without any osculation. Falsetto is when the folds are open, but the edge of the folds are oscillating.
