FL Studio tutorial: How to make a DROP - Signed By Bassjackers Vol. 11

In this episode I will show you how to make a drop. What to take into account and how to make it sound really hard!
I used our collab with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike as an example.

For everybody wondering what's on the masterchain: T-racks 5 Classic Clipper with gain on 2.5 db and slope 0.0. That's it! And I know you can automate third party software with the 'last tweaked' way, but it's just not as fast and you cannot do it with a simple right-button mouseclick ;) that's what I meant!

Actually, you can automate any parameter in FL by touching the knob/slider you want to automate, then clicking "Tools > Last Tweaked > Create Automation Clip"! So you can use Pro-Q if you want to, but you clearly don't need to. But it works for every single parameter in any plugin, so super useful for variation in any plugin!

In FL, some third party plugins allow for automation, just adjust your knob you want to automate, then click on Tools > Last Tweaked > Create automation clip. If you already have that perfect start point you want to automate and don't want to change the value, just click the knob (without adjusting the knob value) and follow instructions in the first sentence. Pro-Q3 allows internal automation clips by right-clicking plugin knobs, unsure about Pro-Q2 but most plugins do allow external creation of automation clips by using the Tools function : )

And dimi said that he and mike don't usually spend time together in the studio, so they come up with ideas and stuff and talk about the idea is it good or bad or it's possible collab with some similar style producers. So i belive that they do produce their music.

@@Bassjackers I think you can do it just as easily. If I was on my PC now, I'd make sure, but still... I'm pretty sure, even though Pro-Q isn't a stock plugin, you still do it the same way, right click and create automation clip. You don't have to do it with "Last tweaked" option or by finding parameters in the file browser. If this is what you meant, at least. Love you and your music either way bro

You talked about the build up and how high it sounds and you talked about you turning down the volume on some of the sounds, but is there anything else you do to take care of the high frequencies? I know you said it comes from the low end (I think that’s what you said) so do you just cut out the low end also? Can you just elaborate on your process of taking care of the high sounds?

How are most of the sounds peaking around 0 dB on their own but the whole song isn't distorted? what did you put on the master channel?

I think that he's just playing with the compressors/limiters/clippers

@@Person-hb3dv EQ and volumes etc. On the master I only limit with the Classic Clipper by T-racks with a value of +2.5 db gain and 0.0 slope. So it acts as a brickwall actually.
