Thanks for the helpful tip regarding the plastic piece over the nut. Just changed my shift knob and I was wondering what I was doing wrong compared to the other videos out there. Yours is the only one I found that mentions this piece.

Bro i bought the oem red and black and just spent the last 3 hours looking for a video showing how to do it properly and even saw a guy in another video put electrical tape in place replacing the oem zip-tie location under the boot🤣🤣 thanks for making the best video on this so far

Yeah I noticed a lot of FL5 owners giving out wrong instructions. It is very simple once you figure it out. Glad you liked the video!
@jeancarlo8158 Жыл бұрын
@phothrottle you should do a video on the illuminated door sill plates, theres only one video and the clips go too fast as well as the voice over, mine came in today but it would be nice to see an install video on that one accessory🙏🏼

The red and black one for both looks, feel and colour coordination with the interior.

That is what I chose and currently using.

@@phothrottle Is there any wear in the leather bit of the knob? I had a coloured gear knob once and the colour soon started to fade.

Lovely, except the crucial bit - removing the plastic collar - was totally out of focus! That's the only bit I need...

@@phothrottle I finally managed it, but that plastic collar arrangement is fiddly beyond belief! Almost as if Honda don't want to make it easy...
@phothrottle6 күн бұрын
@flattliner sorry to hear. The method I used with an allen key allowed the collar to release quite easily without damage. I will have to make an updated vlog that is clear.
@flattliner6 күн бұрын
@@phothrottle I used the Allen key method, but what isn't clear is exactly what you're meant to do with it, since the structure of the collar isn't detailed - and isn't obvious if you leave the boot on (with zip tie off). Down (flush with gear stick) and out, laterally, as you will be aware... Anyway, very pleased with the red Honda knob, a lot warmer than the aluminium one.
