I beat the Zam with the Zeku Zwei. All those barrage and spam-fire weapons made hitting the thrusters from range a lot easier.

Xi and Penelope are ground only suits. So no space fights for those. 😢

so reminder to Rob, Xi and Penelope are both ground only so no Big Zam for them, for everyone else just to explain how the boss works, its got the I-Field which will block all beam damage while its not stunned (normal beam sabers will not be blocked as they do melee damage instead of beam), once it hits half health it will try to trigger a move which shifts it into a mode where its invincible till you stun it which requires you to specifically hit the thrusters on the bottom of it, Robs main issue for a majority of the attempts was that most of his shots were either hitting the body or the legs, the invincibility doesnt seem to trigger if it is stunned or mid attack so if you can time the stun right and deal enough damage you can probably kill it before it shifts to that phase and skip it all together, best bet is to either bring a ballistic suit with lost of missiles or bullets it can spam while moving or bring a good melee, i personally got this done quite easily with FA Unicorn just spamming the anti-ship missiles and 2 different grenades

Lol I had just rolled the Banshee Norn and tried it on the Big Zam my first go ahead too. Did not expect the results I got that attempt.

I was so happy when i fought it and instantly realized the I-field haha made it a actual challenge since almost every MS i own from 500 up has only freaking beam weapons lol

The thruster part of the Big Zam battle caught me off guard the first time I fought it. It's a little difficult, but as long as you know how to land your shots it's not to bad.

Yeah, even a newbie like me was able to figure it out. Plus watching the original series, I knew beam would be ineffective so choose mobile suits with ballistic weapons.

So the thing is that a lot of previous bosses that should have I-field protection had at best beam damage reduction. This is the first time that they've made a fight very, very lore accurate, and I was not expecting that!

Yeah EZZ heavy attack 3 or 4 shots the thing. I managed to score around a minute on the second try.

The Big Zam was easy to beat with the Double Zeta Enhanced. I just bombarded it with the missiles and hacked it to death with melee.

Does the Big Zam have allied units that get support fire? It took me a while to figure out that for Psycho Gundam/Shamblo, the missile fire was tied to a regular unit, so taking that one out was priority.

A.I. Anavel Gato MS-09RS Rick Dom Custom with the Beam Bazooka just and Heat Sword just kept giving you a whipping until you came back with the Moon Gundam..

I managed to take him down Zam pretty nicely with Nightingale. Used the funnels for managing the adds and then just spammed melee (which seems like a popular choice >^_^

I just used zeku zwei and spammed rocket til it was stunned then spammed machine guns at the thrusters til it was stunned again. While stunned I spammed melee and beam weapons. Only took 2 trys after I got that particular ms
