A timeshare is basically a condo that you pay monthly/annual payments for, forever, but that you only get to stay in at the same, specific, time every year. If you can't use it during the specific dates you sign up for, you either have to try and trade dates with someone else who also "owns" the same unit OR you're just S.O.L. for the year. They also charge you maintenance fees in addition to your monthly "ownership" payment. Once you sign the contract to buy a timeshare, they are nearly impossible to get out of without finding someone to buy off of you.

Timeshare = a condo you can use for 1 week a year. Huge maintenance fees and very difficult to get out of once you sign. Upside = you can use your "week" the location of your choice! Hawaii Vegas Europe. Use your "points" to upgrade!
