The bigger problem is only the fraction of the player base that played during DMC collab and got Vergil EX are allowed to compete. Even if they nerf Fadon, Vergil EX owners will continue to dominate charts.

Honestly, I’d be fine with them nerfing Flame Adon. I struggle to even call him “free to play friendly” given he only really becomes nuclear if you bought flame Chun-Li. I really miss the days when people were a lot more creative with their teams and it wasn’t the same thing over and over again.

I wholeheartedly agree that having a team that always does more than the other three teams *combined* is a silly. There will always be a best team, but it shouldn't be by that much. Ideally, the best team should vary based on the boss. It's hard to get people excited for new units when they have to fit in the fire comp or are negligible for bossing. Power creep isn't the solution either, because it would take a massive amount of power creep to catch up to the fire team, which will make every other non-power crept unit useless. FAdon is definitely a problem, but I believe FChun has been the main culprit. She's been core to the best boss team since her release. She heavily restricts the design space for fire units because she amplifies their damage by magnitudes in bossing. Anyways, nothing is going to change. Nerfing in gacha games is a touchy subject when time/money investment is involved. Lastly, one minor correction about bleeds vs burn. VVega's bleeds are capped at 30% of ATK while burn is capped at 7% of ATK. So his bleeds hit much harder. It's just that the FAdon's firewall + burn + Fchun combined make it do way more damage.

Can you let the devs know that they need to update the effigy clash rewards? It's pretty crappy to get the same frames for months now and the reward if you already have that frame is like 300 gems? that's so bad. It makes effigy clash seem pointless when the rewards are this bad.

@hayzink they should have a limitations (like a limit on certain units like in shadowloo. Or they could offer bonus for using lower valued units, like how good is your score if Dee Jay or El fuerte has to be in your lineup, or if you had a budget for teams and using OP characters more expensive, so fire adon is available but he takes up half your budget so the rest of your team, will hqve to be from lower valued players. They could make satsui variations on trial of blood and path of fire, they could just allow you to use trial of blood or path of fire for free with hi scores ineligible for leader board. So many things they could do

I think the major issue is the fact that gore magala ken and nero arent available to the playerbase anymore and are still really strong characters in general flame adon is like the version of them that f2p players get a chance to use and is available to the whole community at least. With these people that payed alot and got gore magala are just so overpowered and characters like this allow f2p players to compete in events and everything in the game without these characters the playerbase would end up hating the style of the game because of those with nero and gore magala so in reality this character makes it fair for f2p players in events out of events though the people who payed alot control everything these characters just make the balance so f2p players have a chance so there isnt a need to address fadon they need to address the gore magala and nero if anything and the game is highly controlled by the people that payed alot.

In all honesty gore ken has fallen off in a big way and isn’t a huge difference maker and hasn’t been for a while now. Nero isn’t a bad unit by any means but he certainly isn’t a difference maker either

Re-release the vergil ex move for everyone to get a chance to obtain it. That will level the playing field. Without it, yes the fadon team still produces high numbers, but not broken numbers.

Since regular Adon is such a trash ass unit the dev team decided to swing the pendulum ALL the way to the other side for Fire Adon lol. I think they should do the same for DeeJay and Hugo as well tbh

this also hurts content creators, I see less videos about "what teams to use on this boss" since everyone know F adon is the way 😅 they would need to do a huge balance patch, fix bugged units and give soul power to all units. I wanna see cammy and viper again on leaderboards

Yeah i agree btw i dont think he's that F2p unit as some people point him out to be cause f2p in events dont have F chun or even decent built ronda to max his output its just as u said it all now comes to manual if u got good rng and proper timing U score high whether whale or not.

The only solution to the problem that you have brought up in this video is to tune the bosses in a way that it gives incentive to theory craft. That is if the devs have the time and SKILL to do so.

There is a lot of swings and roundabouts to the discussion. In any competitive game there is always a meta that rises to the top, and most of the time all of the serious players will trend towards whatever is best - even if it is just a few percent better than what they'd rather play. Sure, in this case it is a bigger gap, but generally I think you'd find that in many/most instances top 10's if not more will be largely the same team anyway. See it in many games with "options", players like to feel like they're in control, but as soon as a top player finds out the best option - anything else becomes the wrong choice. Heck, outside of those Whale types out there, pretty much every team for ages that I've seen in PvP etc is pretty much always Bison, Bzang, Viper, Elena - the Whale players jump ahead to the higher echelons of the leader boards with fancier characters - but in the ranks I float around in, aside from a few players who pop up who I honestly think they just forgot to change their defensive lineup (and/or stopped playing altogether maybe) every is the same team. Sure, its a problem just HOW much better than the next dps unit he is in the pertinent game modes, but RNG aside, if a unit is 1% better than the next unit, its still the best unit and will be picked 99% of the time. They're never going to balance the game to a point where every character is an option. They could run seasons, with different seasons allowing different characters in play. Or going with your resistances option, could go the other way and give bosses big vulnerabilities. This boss takes 500% increased wind damage or what not - make the number so high that it invalidates even the Flame Adon team (admittedly you'll just end up at a point with a set meta team for each season, but still - it mixes things up I guess)

I think they will only make changes in the future when they release future paywalled units - and people arent in a rush to get the new character because they know the chances of FAdon being power crept is highly unlikely.. Basically only if his strengths start hindering thier profits... P.S Just realised, that FAdons dominance with FChun has probably resulted in anyone (including me) who may have been F2P before but wants to place in any leaderboard - was forced to buy FChun this Anniversary. So FAdons dominance has resulted in more FChun purchases atm.. Im guessing the next strategy, is to bring out a new character (an alternate to FChun) that then boosts another new / existing character to become a simular Meta level to FAdon.. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Pair the other main burn stacker (sim) on the same team for fadon. You don’t even get remotely close to his scores, I mean miles off it So yes it’s absolutely part of it but she existed before him and hitting a 2b score with her on a dhal team was considered mega. Now it’s meh in comparison

Sorry Im a noob on the game so my understanding may be limited, I thought even tho Flame Adon is a F2P unit the meta's available are P2W as u would need Flame Chun & Rich EHonda who F2P players will not have esp Flame Chun, are there variations& subs to Flame Chun & Rich E Honda that can compete? Maybe new Gen & F Blanka but doesnt really compete with the P2W Meta, I guess this is a dev strat to get more Finance into the game, I totally agree with u & maybe Buff other dots & stacks like bleed etc so there will be more variations, strats & versatility to compete

Honda can operate in the team with a single copy and they gave out 2 during the event so that part of it is considered f2p. You can run it without chun, it won’t be as high obv but still higher than almost anything else tbh

You can merc the flame Chun so you don't need her but you need a friend with one. These will be good for guild stuff and more but not always for events

Your point is not factual. There has always been a best team. Since the game launch. The fact that you, a whale and original player, seems to not recognize this is silly. Early in the game, Bison was completely dominant. Many people asked for a nerf. Content creators demanded one. Nothing happened and the game moved on. I feel the same way about this.

There was always a semi decent counter to bison and bison wasn't a boss killer flame adon a boss killer and player killer. A counter to it would literally be flame immunity and you can't have loads of fighters with that it would be better to nerf flame adon or buff the bosses to counter it so some bosses bleed more and immune to burn and flame some take more shock or immune to shock etc that should give a good mix up without compromise

@avale9771 I have been playing this game since its launch and it operates like any other game in terms of the meta, where everyone uses the most powerful and effective strategies. Prior to the addition of Fire Addon, everyone used the same teams to top the leaderboards. Now if they nerf Fire Addon, the next highest damage dealer will take its place on all the leaderboards. This is how all games work, and there is no point in complaining about it.

I'd argue F.Adon isn't really ruining the game for most of the reasons you stated. Every game has its meta. F.Adon increased the damage potential drastically, absolutely, but the outcome hasn't changed from what it would have been either way. Prior to him, it was Dhalsim. Literally any content you'd be stacking F.Adon damage on, you'd have been doing the same with Dhalsim. Running different teams wasn't much of a thing except maybe just for the first few months of the game, when people were figuring things out. Had they not allowed F.Adon's damage to be so high, the meta would simply have shifted a little. The fun to be had would be better, sure, but it's also very temporary. FOTM is common and that problem of meta is always there. I think that if the devs actually did care to make the game systemically better (we already established they don't), they'd introduce some sort of mechanic that boosts other units to be better competitive. Maybe an actual FOTM mechanic that buffs a wide range of characters temporarily.

Poor clickbait title and another average take, FAdon is accessible to everyone so he's not an issue, the p2w's will score higher on the other 2/3 teams, all is fine. The whale's should for the most part also have Virgil EX which will again separate them from the pack if they understand how to use it. There will always be meta, if you remove FAdon's existence from the game you still hold the same issue with Dhalsim teams... The exact same thing just to a smaller scale.
