Worth noting that we played every game of this with one slightly wrong rule. We kept our hand limit to 6 including Artisan and fancy dragons. And this made the game feel slightly tighter than it actually is. Thanks to the two different folk who messaged me to point that out when the draft video went up. Some sneaky edits have been made. Now as for the game. Gameplay wise, it's fine, it's not great by any means but if you just lean into it a little, it can be quite a fun game. Not sure it's particularly deep at all though

I really like Flamecraft. It's an engine builder where players build the engine together and everyone benefits from it. It props weaker players up without holding stronger players back. And it's simply gorgeous. While it isn't my favourite engine builder or euro-style game by a long mile, it's very charming, accessible, and pleasant. Easy recommend for anyone interested in a game in the weight class of Ticket To Ride that's also actually fun.

Gotta love Flamecraft.

I like this game, and I was glad to have backed the Kickstarter campaign. This is definitely a light-Euro game and I treat it as such. I can see me bringing this out to a group that are new to the hobby as an intro light-weight game that does have some meaningful decisions. And yes, I do agree that the one item holding this back is its table presence (not on the same level as Twilight Imperium, but I digress).

Gorgeous artwork. Gameplay is totally accessible and gentle. However, it feels fairly generic. Definitely a family game or one for newcomers. I want to like it more.

Hmm this is definitely going on my 'get it if cheap to play with the niece' list.

I didn't mind my one play of Flamecraft, but that's about all my feelings about it. It felt like Lords of Waterdeep to me, in that there is the beginning of a cool idea that I like, but then the rest of the game is just order fulfillment for VP and missing some spice to make it stand out. Probably the most marketable game ever though.

Ah right! Tuesday already, released as promised! This game reminds me of Bargain Quest, where the artwork is much much more developed than the gameplay

Yeah I came to look for this comment to like. I am a gumpy old monster too, I don't like the look of it.

It’s cute but is it cute enough? Does it attack a paradigm of radical cuteness?

I don't like this game. it's super beautiful, and the art is delightful, but there are too many resources to get and produce per turn. I much prefer tighter games like Dune Imperium although the art in Dune is not as remarkable as this one or even Everdell, its a much fair comparison.

That's fair. I think the huge dumps of stuff make it quite appealing to kids, but yeah, it feels pretty loose

I also thought that it takes more space than it should for what it is. It has too many different things on the table at once which can make it confusing for kids. While at the same time it has imho little tactical depth making it not so interesting for me as adult. Really sad that this is my conclusion, cause I really love the look of the game and thought this would be a clear keeper for my gamegroup and my nieces after this was such a hit with the masses

Oh, the retail version. I actually flinched when I saw those cardboard tokens.

Is the deluxe plastic? For a retail game, this felt fine
