Juan Serrano was the head professor at Fresno State University when I went there. I regret that I did not attend my guitar lessons more. Juan is a legend. He was kicking the guitar's ass when he was five. This - by far is my favorite piece by Serrano and it is the only piece I still know how to play. And yes, it is drop D.

Senor Serrano~~~I wrote to you several years ago and told you that I bought your first album when I was 12 years old (in 1960) and you were 26. I am 74 now, and am still a big fan of yours! I believe you are one of the greatest Flamenco guitarists in the world and just wanted you to know how greatly your music always affected me and moved my soul. With much affection and admiration...God Bless You. Sally Rogino Vaughn

He acknowledges in a humble manner and continues to greet the other members. Everyone who plays the classical guitar in Fresno knows Juan Serrano but back in those days(1991) the internet was not quite invented yet and I had no idea who he was. I only knew the name. Juan is a very humble person and very forgiving as well. In college, I missed more than half my guitar lessons with him and he still gave me a "B." Thank you, Juan Serrano.

I started playing the guitar in high school and became really intrigued about the sound of the classical guitar. I took a classical guitar class and joined the Fresno Guitar Society. I attended my first meeting with the Fresno Guitar Society and this gentleman comes to greet me. After we shake hands, he says, "Do you know who I am?" I said, "No." He says, "I am Juan Serrano." I took him by the hand again with my two hands and say, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Serrano. He acknowledges

I saw one of Juan's students playing this piece at a guitar panorama and I was hooked. I took lessons from THAT student but I quit soon after because he turned out to be a very bitter guy. No need to mention his name. But anyway, I love this piece and it is one of the few pieces I still remember how to play.

KungFuMaster1972 Damn, idk how you can play a guitar like this and be a douche... Happens though. We have one legit Flamenco shop here in town, but I never go to spite the owner. He was rude to me the first time and second time I tried his services were no better. Never again, ordered a handmade in Spain guitar online... LOVE IT. Any who...yeah assholes and passionate playing shouldn't mix.

To me - it sounds like some gypsies are having a party. It starts out weird and mysterious. Then after some psychedelic enhancements, the party gets crazy.....and after the drug wears off, everyone starts to calm down. The party ends with everyone sleeping peacefully.
