I know. It's sad. Paulie was my favorite character. Tony was just so damn good playing him. I hope they do a similar documentary for him as well. His real life story is actually amazing. I watched the interview with him from 1989, and I can't believe how mean he seemed to have been when he was younger. Talking about beating the shit out of guys just for talking to his girlfriend. The interviewer asked him if he ever killed anyone, and he hesitated at first but then said no. Of course he wasn't gonna say yes, even if he DID kill anyone. But, him turning his life around, and becoming an actor, is incredible, and inspiring.

Beautiful poem by Dominic Chianese (Corrado Junior Soprano): You can travel down the road, Check on every vine, You can travel down the road, You can travel down the line. But there were few like Jimmy, He was homemade wine. Honest, good, pure, nothing added. Wants you to have a good time, Sharing with friends like family. He was homemade wine. You need a dollar? You got Jim. Loyalty and truthfulness, that was him. Believing in something good out there. Never got in the way, he was always fair. A good brother, a good son, good father. If this was the only role James Gandolfini ever played, he'd still have to go down as one of the greatest actors to ever live. When he's on the screen, he's the only one you watch. Everyone else disappears. So consistent, so intense, so brutally honest; a totally concentrated artist. I only wish he lived longer to give us more of everything he had to give. R.I.P.

We sadly recently have now lost Tony Sirico as well. There will never be as an important type of show as The Sopranos. Think about that, and let it sink in. How lucky we all are to have been able to witness the history being made for 6 seasons, every Sunday night during those seasons, we knew that we could pause what we were doing, and watch this groundbreaking historic show give us all something we had never seen before, and sadly never will again. Every couple of years, not as often as I use to, I still will watch the series, and think back to what I was doing back then, and how I would look forward to those new episodes.

It’s crazy how COVID is the reason I saw the entire Sopranos and became a die hard fan very fast. Part of me regrets not seeing it when it first came out, but then again I would’ve been way too young. A big part of me is happy I got to see it older but now I’m a grown ass man missing someone as if they just recently passed. Jimmy’s passing was too soon but it’s crazy how he continues to impact people’s lives so many years later after his death… like me. This guy literally makes me want to be a better person in all aspects of life.

Not knocking your comment. But actors and acting has to be like that. Self defence. It is like nothing else. Imagine another business where you have to kiss someone you don't really know or grab hold of them. Then be told to do it again. Never mind the long hours in their company. You have to fall in love or you'd die.

Very few actors have the same presence and depth that Gandolfini had. They are completely right when they say that he projected unique emotion when acting. His body language is almost contagious--when watching him act, many start to mirror him subconsciously because of how well the audience connects with him on screen. This is actually what makes James my all-time favourite actor.

I have been in this country for over 30 years, I have seen a lot of celebrity deaths announced on TV and on the internet and have seen how people reacted about them. I can honestly say James Gandolfini's death has most affected me, I have never felt so personal about an actor as I did with Jimmy. And also in my opinion, his death was more talked about than any other actors that have passed on in recent memory. He was a very good hearted human being. A rare and a one of a kind.

On my 10th run watching the Sopranos , my gf has never watched it & she is in awe... the writing , the depth , tony & melfi's talks , & the scenes with Gandolfini & just the range of emotions he showed you through his eyes ... Dude was on another level The halmark of an amazing actor
