Nice fly. I was not yet at the thinner tube when I started the second hackle so I added some more dubbing and a red hackle before the last dub and orange hackle on the thin tubing. Turned out a bit longer but very nice. Also I had no badger hair for the wing, so I had to do a blend with red and yellow craft fur.

any soft fur or indeed craft fur can work :)

I’ve been struggling to make a decision to use doubles or trebles for tube flies. I decided to go with doubles. Do you have any preference for either type of hook and if so, why or how do you decide to use one or the other for tube flies? Thanks for making such beautiful content!

Normally it will depend on the fly size, smaller hooks tend to be best for Salmon at least so in most cases smallest flies small trebles, then as they get larger doubles and potentially even singles on the largest flies like sunrays or intruders etc. Needs to be able to fit inside the fishes mouth :)

paul connor it is quite close to templedog so a great substitute for that or various types of fox pelt. It is supersoft, not for fast swinging in heavy flows for sure. Great for slow pools or smaller rivers, in this colour perfect for peaty spate rivers.

Loop Flies Thanks mate! must give try, should suit a few wee rivers up north. Tightlines! 🎣😉
