The southern part of Thailand likes to eat very spicy food and doesn't like sweet food. If you can't imagine how spicy it is. When you pee, you'll feel your pee hot and your genitals heat up the urethra. When you poop, your ass hurts. Sometimes when you notice yourself poop. It will have peppers in it. That is common household food. But if you eat street food, you won't find what I said because they trade. and the taste will diminish. when i was young I cry often because of eating spicy food. It made my whole body sweat. It was so spicy and hot that I had to jump into the river.

The yellow thing is called ‘sangkaya’, it’s essentially egg custard that’s been steamed. It’s delicious, a lot of the time it’s served on top of stucky rice wrapped in banana leaves.

Westerners might think that Pad Thai is the Thai national dish, they are not wrong. But for most Thais, there is another dish which is even more popular. ie, Pad Kapao, stir-fired pork/chicken with holy basil leafs and red chilies. Pad Kaprao usually comes with a fried egg with liquid yolk inside. 7-11 sells Pad Kapao with no egg. Dessert that you that you ate is steamed egg custard with sticky rice and yes its the same with banana leave warp one.But in southern there are more different kind of filling that eat with sticky rice it you willing to try.Pumpkin one is kinda similar but custard in it will taste a little bit milder (no pumpkin inside custard)

Funky Child already told you about the mysterious sweet @ 12:50 which is Sangkaya Fugthong (Pumpkin Custard) so I’ll give a clue about the place @ 14:53 It’s bean curd, and if it’s ginger you smelled, maybe it’s fresh bean curd served with hot ginger tea. It can be sweetened with some syrup, caramel, or brown sugar and eaten as a sweet. Imagine pudding in spicy ginger sauce.

I am Thai by birth. When I was a child, I ate food without strong taste. But when living in Thai society, going to school, meeting with friends, working with people, I find 99% of them eat spicy food, so I have to practice real spicy food and after that I got used to it and loved it ever since. Likewise, the sweetness of dessert. I found it to be super sweet. Thai teas, coffees, and drinks were all so sweet. I had to tell the vendor to add less sugar or in Thai "wan noi". We began to realize that we've been eating too much sweets. Then Government agencies campaign to reduce the amount of sugar. But you know that once we get used to the delicious taste, we want to continue eating that way, right? just like you said "Not spicy, not delicious!"😅

hi Ellis hi Alicia about water festival if u guys dont want a place with crowded foreigners. may b joining in a traditional SongKran is good :) original SongKran is just simple its a day to gather family members ; youth slowly drip water to elders hand sometimes beg for forgiveness or prosperity and then the elder bless them. please looking for famous Thai temple or a town hall in a province(i have no idea which province will u in SongKran) this religion ceremony have many locals almost no foreigner and always start in the morning(around 7am) over before moon. just say "kor ruam duy dai mai?"(may i join in this?) this ceremony also has traditional Thai play , sports , foods. not fancy like a modern day.(loud music,splash water with a whole bucket,shot jet water cutter from a space water gun) yes to summary its a hidden gem for foreigners,im sure many not know about this.
