This era of Flaming Lips videos gives me insane nostalgia for the 90's. More than anything else. Because the videos (George's work?) don't have fancy sets or production... just real life 90's stuff especially if you're from OKC and were part of the scene when the Lips represented all of us in Oklahoma. So good.

I really loved the era with Ronald Jones on guitar. He added an edge that was lost and really made a difference in the band's success and visibility in my opinion.

Ahhh the Xmas lights everywhere 😍 Saw them in a tiny club in '94 or '95 in Deep Ellum in Dallas with Xmas lights everywhere and on everyone with a bubble machine filling the room. It was blissful. Damn those were some good times...

@@randydillonart There is still nothing like a Flaming Lips show. I was at OU starting in late 1995, and I missed the Dallas and OKC shows, which were the last 'Lips playing actual instruments' shows until 1999 or 2000. I kick myself daily for missing the opportunity to see them with Ronald Jones.

Saw them in Portland in 97ish and they had about 10,000 Xmas lights hardwired to a guitar pedal. No lights were on, then ALL of the lights were ON. Amazing moment...

@@ericgrimey4792 Too funny! I saw the same tour in Cleveland. It was during a weird era when concert promoters thought it would be good to introduce different music styles to various genres. I was a fan of (still am) the Lips and Tool. But it was interesting to watch the Tool fans (total metal fans) try to boo the Lips off the stage with bubbles in the air when they opened. But, yeah. A long time ago indeed.

Their earlier stuff is definitely my favorite too. None of their stuff after this record ever had the same impact on me, cuz they stopped doing the awesome Dinosaur Jr-esque guitar noise freakouts in their songs.
