Flamingo Land Vlog | April 2019

We took our first trip to Flamingo Land for six years, in April 2019! Flamingo Land is a theme park and resort located in Yorkshire, England, and features some weird and wacky attractions! Featured in our vlog is POVs on some of the rides including Kumali and Mumbo Jumbo, as well as first time reactions to the roller coaster Hero!

@@Coaster_Crazy It was mostly aimed at Theme Park Worldwide who I'm convinced just likes the sound of his own voice. He repeats himself constantly and drones on and on. I know some long days may demand a long vlog but IMO a typical day at the park should produce a 30-45 minute vlog.

Your Hero reaction is the best I've seen yet. :-) Look at it this way: You are doing us all a huge service by riding it so that we don't have to. 😂 Who in their right mind spends £8 million on Hero when it could have paid for a Troy clone? or a Gravity Kraft. I really think a woodie is what the park needs instead of another boxy steel coaster. Velocity looks like it would be the highlight for me if I ever make it up there.

Genuinely lol at your audio/dialogue when on Hero. I loved the vlog and the honest reviews from everyone, I also agree that there is definitely something missing with this park, I said it on my first visit, firstly the park needs more covering either trees or covered walk ways and they definitely need some sort of woodie ! I like the park but definitely would go for a holiday there like some people do

We love Flamingoland, but come as a family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teen, 1 tween), and we always visit in the summer. We always run out of time to do everything, but totally see what you're saying about there being something missing. Hero is dreadful, but most everything else is re-rideable depending on the length of the queue. Velocity kept breaking down last time we were there (early July 2018) which was disappointing. Operations could definitely be improved - queue lengths and turnarounds are longer than they need to be. But all in all, we still always have a great day here. Although we always get tickets through my work, so we've never paid full price.

Liesl 76 I think going in the summer is my idea of a nightmare, the queues must be absolutely terrible with their lack of urgency with throughputs on the coasters. I’ve just got no love for it at all, it’ll probably be a long time before I go again.

Did you not look at the markings parallel to Velocity? IMO the park is understaffed - There need to be at least 3 people working Velocity and Kumali and have a free for all station. The queue would move quite quickly even on one train. Hopefully the rumoured Ten inversion Coaster should bring you back.

Expedition Coaster As far as I know they’ve only enquired about the ten looping coaster, they haven’t bought it but they’re interested. They don’t seem to have any urgency to move queues, the park has no atmosphere and the rides are not particularly good so I think it’ll be a long time before I go back.

I agree, there just isn't enough there to warrant me going back to be honest, that's why I haven't been to the place since 2005. It's not bad for what it is but there's just not enough variety of rides for me variety of rides for me.

The only El Loco I've ridden is Green Lantern at Movie World Gold Coast and it has a lap bar. It was really enjoyable and I looked forward to going on Mumbo Jumbo soon. Now not so much😂

The last time I went here it had a pinfari looper.......the bullet rollercoaster.....corkscrew.......thunder mountain......enterprise.....I thought it was great but it does look abit naf now !!!!!!

To be fair you didn’t do have the stuff that was there there is a massive zoo with a sealion show a bird show keeper talks a peter rabbit area there is the pirate show some of the smaller rides and the majority of the park is African themed with thatched roofs and rock work ect. And it’s the very start of the season so it has not kicked into full swing yet so the atmosphere is lower because it is off peak season

We didn’t visit for the Zoo though, we are coaster enthusiast who want to experience good and great coasters, seeing the zoo wouldn’t have enhanced my experience of what is an average theme park at best.

Completely agree with you guys, it's just average at best. I feel like the park isnt helped by how flat and unvaried it feels - bit like a rollercoaster Tycoon park sandbox with rides just filling up space! Shame as the Zoo was always a good area. Great vlog as per

you was lucky it was a quiet day, we went last year it was busy and the worst operations for every ride, thought the staff were on a go slow to save power and money for the park. we only got on 3 rides all day but after watching your vlog we maybe were blessed by not getting on HERO. the merch was terrible we only wanted a park pin or something with the name on and all that was on offer was stuffed toys, have to say the zoo was good BUT feel they need to make their minds up if they want to be a zoo or theme park, very costly for what you get RANT over

Well it was heavily themed but people complained about the sea side area the sea side adventure there was a kid ride they complained do they replaced it with the cars I was angry because it was a good area they have made it worse

Agree with most of your comments on the rides and park. We went last year for first time in ages. Rides disappointing TBH. Kumali is ok but nothing great, mumbo jumbo is a good ride but ops too slow, hero is awful - worst in uk - worse than Colossus and Vampire, and that’s saying something! Booster bikes not as good as I remembered them but a good concept nonetheless. Flats are ok but nothing to write home about. The water ride is a bit slow but the splash down is worth it at the end. Animal collection is good and that area of the park is really pretty. Food is dire though I didn’t think park entry cost was too high, especially with RCCGB discount. It’s not a park we will return to in a long while. I prefer Drayton, which is catering to a similar market. CWOA is the best zoo/rides park in the UK though.
