hi Leo, very happy to see the review, I'd like to share you some information as a Chinese player . flamma fx200, the lowest price in China is 2000rmb, at least I can find. 1dollor is equal to 7rmb, considering the newest exchange rite parities. And nux30, at first its price is 1999rmb, now is about 1450rmb, very reasonable, but have some hardware problems .ampero stomp, earlier this year, above 3000rmb, some online shop even sold 3450rmb ,but after boss gx100(3650~4000rmb) had published, its price has dropped to 2500rmb now,or even lower. another thing to mention is that flamma is belong to mooer, who is rival to hotone, and flamma has a high argument in China because hotone and some guitar players accused that flamma fx200 plagiarized their product's features, and hotone even published an article to alarm flamma and its company. I don't stand both side, actually what I really care is the better products and the lower price

That one is very difficult to beat. This Flamma sounds good but it seems another Mooer (even though it seems to sound better), with the typical problems of the Mooer, like the digital noise that you can hear at 6:55 when Leo decreases the guitar volume. The MG30 is a linear modeler, like Fractal, which doesn't have this problem, plus is more touch sensitive. Moreover, the amp sims here have all the same controls, like on the Mooer; this seems like all the amps are a lot of non linear kemper profiles and you change the parameters like you would do in post processing. On the other hand, for instance if you increase the master on the Nux, the gain would increase like in a real amp. I think those could be good points to take into account

The sounds were quite good. Many of the shortcomings in fearures can be fixed with Firmware Updates. But, as you mentioned, it is a crowded price point in the Modeler Market. It is hard to distinguish one Modeler from the next without having stellar features or doing something important that the others can't do. I don't know if that's possible in this price range, as it would probably require a new and innovative redesign of the Modeler User Interface.
@LeoGibsonGtr2 жыл бұрын

Great demo song and fantastic review as usual Leo. My main concern is buying a "off-brand" processor and firmware support. But, if they price it right and it sounds good, maybe not a bad trade-off. I'm guessing you'll continue to do shootouts in the future of this against the usual competitors. NU-X is really crushing it right now and Flamma is not far behind. God bless and rock on 🎸😎👍

Hello Leo, when you say its latency is 4.9ms, would it be a problem to record/play with Windows DAW using its audio interface then? I saw a clip testing Valeton GP-200 having a presumed latency of 3.3ms, but then the real test shows very big latency that makes me skipping GP-200 !? Thanks!
@LeoGibsonGtr16 күн бұрын
Hi, I would say that it depends from two factors: 1) how much sensitive you are to latency (some of us are fine with 10ms of latency and some cannot play with 5ms) 2) how much latency introduce your audio interface, that also depends on how powerful is your computer and how much you can keep the buffer small Of course the latency of the pedalboard is gonna sum up to the latency of your computer + audio interface...therefore you have to take into consideration both of them Thanks
@lasu771216 күн бұрын
@@LeoGibsonGtr Many thanks for your explanation! I see. I was thinking to get such modeler but unsure about its ability to work with DAW. Ciao Leo.
@LeoGibsonGtr2 жыл бұрын
Grazie ancora!!!

Thanks for your amazing videos Leo! I'm looking to get a unit that emulates amplifiers as accurate as possible. I don't care much about inbuilt fx since I got many pedals (I guess, for the same reason, lag wouldn't be so important under this logic). In a low/medium price range, what do you think would be my best option? I've been considering getting the Ampero Hotone 2, but is hard to make up my mind since I've seen lots of positive but also negative reviews about that device. Thanks for your videos and your help. Regards
@LeoGibsonGtr2 жыл бұрын
Hi, it's really hard to suggest a specific unit without talking with you "extensively"... I mean, understanding all your need (for instance, how many foot switches do you need? how do you record?, etc.). Therefore I'm typically reluctant to suggest a specific unit. I would suggest you to define: what are the amps that you want to have (so that you can check out what modeller offers those amps), what connections do you need (for instance, do you need stere fx loop), how many footswitches? etc. In my opinion this process should allow you to select 2 or 3 devices. Then, you can start to check out second hand occasions, prices, availability, etc. Thank you, and sorry if I'm not so directive.
