So I quickly assembled a cyclone separator almost entirely from trash in like an hour and it's a huge improvement! I recommend you to try this if you hate cleaning the filter every time.

What do you put around the filter? Power did not decrease?

@@AliWall I don't put anything around because pre-filters are designed to keep large particles, lets say 1mm in diameter from getting into the filter, but it's not needed because the metal drum of the vacuum cleaner itself is working like a cyclone, but it's performance is poor, so it separates ONLY large particles (does the job of the pre-filter). Sucking power did decrease a little bit but it's still more than enough. And if needed you can build a cyclone with almost no power loss, it all depends on the design. I used a 1.5l plastic bottle, a little bucket (it's no more than 1l capacity) with a lid and a hose from another vacuum cleaner. I will post a photo of this quick mock up so you get an idea. There are many ways to make the cyclone and there's a lot of 'wiggle room' for the shapes and stuff.

What's your opinion now? I have the same unit and have to wash the filter almost after every use because most of the ashes get into the filter rather than drop down and stay at the bottom.

Yea, after every use needs clean filter. Really annoying.

@@AliWall I think this is the case with most ash vacuums. I saw Karcher AD2 has a 'reboost' feature where user can press a button a few times and it cleans the filter. Probably pumps some air the other way around through the filter. I will try to solve this problem by making a cyclone separator and connecting it in series with the unit.
