Don't fly & try! When setting up flaps set the value of pot S1 to appear on one of the displays and also have it as a += source for the elevator in the mixer when SB- is selected. Next fly to height, engage flaps and adjust the pot - you may have to engage & disengage the flaps several times (to recover) before getting it 'dialed in'. Next land, read off the value of S1 and replace S1 in the mixer with MAX and the value from the display.

I'll have to try that. A more mathematical approach.

Thanks Andrew, great explanation, I finally understand how to delete any entries in the Taranis Q X7 "Input" page and do all settings in the "Mixer" page only. I followed your instructions and it just worked fine. The only differrence: I needed to set up spoilerons on my glider. I guess that for spoilerons the elevator compensation needs some uptrim instead of downtrim. Right? I will see next weekend (hopefully). Greetings from Germany, I have learned a lot from your tutorials in the past two years.

Inputs do nothing unless you use them in the mixer page. Spoilerons dont need elevator compensation usually.

I'm curious why you prefer the first method (using MAX as the source) over the 2nd? I also saw your earlier video doing flaperons with a Turnigy 9XR where you used the 2nd method only. Is there something about using MAX as the source that works better?
@AndrewNewton
@AndrewNewton 5 жыл бұрын
I think it's because with the second method you always have to adjust the offset as well as the weight and you only get half and full programmed weight. With the first method you have total control over each switch position and no offset needed.
