Thank you Stephanie, so useful! Sometimes I made it round sometimes not so much. The secondhand placement was the A-ha moment 💡

Wonder if I could do this on static since you can get way more momentum from the flair 👀

Thank you Stephanie! Would you say the flare is easier or best to do with your hands higher up on the pole or both hands gripping the pole down by your armpits?
@StephanieTallant2 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you’re going for after :)) if you’re doing a basic flare or trying to sequence them, I’d say you are likely to have more strength and control with both hands low. However, if trying to combo with the ballerina, it’ll be much easier to wrap your body with one arm high. Does that make sense?

Thank you for the tutorial. I'm a little confused about another point to ballerina. I've heard it's important not to press the ribs against the pole. You're supposed to lean the chest out and have the pole under the ribs and above the hip bone. But all the time I see what looks like the pole is against the ribs on the side or the back on pole dancers. What is the correct form for the upper body?
@StephanieTallant4 ай бұрын
The pole will definitely be making contact with a portion of your rib cage, by the nature of the move. It's important to include twisting and torso rotation drills in your warm up and practice the ballerina on the floor first to make sure your body is prepared for it on the pole. There's a lot going on to support the contact of the pole on the ribs - pull down with top arm, engagement of TVA, engagement of upper back and low back.
