My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless.

The key to big returns is not big moving stocks. It's managing risk in relationship to reward. Having the correct size on and turning your edge as many times as necessary to reach your goal. That holds true from long term investing to day trading.

I totally agree; I am 66 years old, recently retired, with approximately $1.2 million in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, I didn't do all this alone, but with the help of a financial advisor. Having one is currently the best way to trade in the stock market, especially for people nearing retirement.

Tom, thx for sharing the story about a subscriber that "clawed" back from losses using the abundance mentality. I have considered myself a perma-bear and this heavily blinded me from opportunities, kept me in defensive mode all the time. Now I see pullbacks completely different. Your mastery, perspective, and opinions are a "calming beacon" as someone said below. My only ask is provide ideas on beaten down sectors that will benefit from stagflation / slow reduction of interest rates in the next 2-3 years. Thanks for everything you do.

My primary scenario is for another sell off on metals, SP500/NASDAQ and some individual stocks (eg TSLA ), just to flush out the weak hands. A take out of the $100 low on TSLA would set up the perfect buy for example as well as gold, silver and other select stocks. The nervous nellies on the Mag 5 may just give us that opportunity.

Bought a 4/26 $415 put on Meta at 2pm. Wonder if they will let me get paid by Friday or will there be bounce before the gap is filled. Fingers crossed… $385 by Friday would be $3000 on a $80 bet. Just had a feeling… my theory was, a deep pullback was needed before it goes higher, and they need earnings to manipulate that much without raising too many eyebrows.

@@austinjon31thanks, for whatever reason I decided to grab a 6/21 $295 put as well, I’ll certainly be in the money on that one. Just unsure when to off load it. Take the profit immediately or let it run a bit. Unsure if this big pull back was profit taking from the massive run it had the last 2 years. Or the start of something bad for the market.

Been saying this for the last 2 weeks. We are heading for a big sell off. The recent price action is telling me so. Stay with puts and short until we get a big sell off. Many highfliers will get chopped in half or more in a matter of weeks. SMCI is a good example. Love the stock but not right now. There are no other ways for TSLA to go but down from here. Xiaomi, BYD and Peng are formidable competitors for TSLA. They build better cars, and it will a matter of time they will compete against TSLA in the US.

I think Elon saved the break below the trendline by promising the 25k car early 2025. Will they deliver? I'm more focused on that news in the shorter term than the robo taxis and humanoids. With tax incentives people could buy a new Tesla with a car payment under $300. I think that we'll keep sales numbers high enough to keep investors interested until some of the other tech can come to fruition.

TSLA is still in a pattern of lower lows and lower highs for two and a half years now. The low priced car won’t be profitable, but humanoids would create a lot of hype, but it’ll be expensive to make and even more expensive to buy. I’m still bearish.

tom, you asked what i think of TSLA. TSLL paid $.078/share dividends on march 19th and right now the stock is at $6.50 so thats a very attractive deal. one of the best dividend ratios right now

total return is what matter and when it goes down ur dividend returns won't matter. Its also leveraged so it is more volatile than TSLA

I think you need to look into the AI stuff more. Remember, they're not all releasing the cutting edge stuff yet. They're releasing some intro products so that people get used to the idea of the tech before the real stuff comes out. I think the next 2-3 years are going to see some crazy new products come out that are life changing.
