Flash flood near Virgin Utah

A flash flood with lots of debris running down North Creek. Video was taken from the top a berm running behind my home near Virgin Utah.

This shows just how dangerous flash floods are, and why. If you were in the wash bed they'd find pieces of you, or you'd get a free burial. And that's before you even had a chance to drown. Even the water alone isn't safe as you talk about it moving boulders and we've seen what's in it. Be safe! These are even more spine tingling when you're backpacking in canyon country!

I wish you would answer people's comments! I was in Zion Narrows the day this happened and we were caught in lots of rain, had to wait on a cliff in case of a flash flood. I'd like to know where this is on a map compared to Zion Narrows. I believe it's just west of Zion narrows.

Hi Mr Wilson, That is amazing video. I've hike the Subway in Zion a couple years ago. I live on the outskirts of Las Vegas. Did this flash flood happen along Kolab Terrace Rd. north of Virgin, UT ? That really shows the power of water. Those giant logs being tossed around like toothpicks. When I hike in the Zion area, I try to explain to my mid-west friends that if it looks at all like a chance of rain we are NOT doing the hike. Now I have your video to show them. Thank you !!
