Double picture in picture action! Thanks for the cast!! Flash, Rain, Fantasy: Three players able to return and adapt fast af to the meta, and these games are an example. I think, both games, building a second Wraith would've been genius.
@-LocoBolon7 ай бұрын
Yes I agree, you need to have a small number or wraiths mb with cloak so they live longer to be able to have these small fights everywhere vs this style Protoss
@-LocoBolon7 ай бұрын
I think Flash is already shining light on one weakness this P style has wich is few observers and not much time to micro them correctly to clean mines.

fun fact about that cancelled "dragoon range" at 19:30 is that it was actually air weapons which is 50 minerals and gas cheaper
@stambe86057 ай бұрын
Yep, thats an old trick that was being used alot back in 02-04 PvT meta to trick Terrans that you are going Goon range, then canceling and going DTs or expand. Reavers weren't used nearly to the same extent or proficiency like in 2024. I guess it still holds merit to use it to conceal faster Reavers.

Google Translate shows that in the beginning of the second game 15:13 Flash: Is that right? Snow: Yes Flash: Yes looks like there is missing dialogue between them Crazy how Snow managed to to dodge vulture/tank shots with his shuttle/reaver micro when reavers was 1 tank shot from death once at 24:33 and again at 24:37 The reaver was less than 10 hp, with no shield so a tank shout kills it but somehow dodges it.
@boyalogs7 ай бұрын
Snow actually does this against Speed in the most recent ASL. It was probably one of the best reaver/shuttle plays in history. I highly recommend you go watch it. Also... Thanks for the translation. 'preciate it buddy.

does not seem like a great way to play terran, I know flash is better than I am but in general terrans trade better in large battles, protoss trades better in small battles, maybe flash was trying to be scrappy just for practice, but flash knows he could easily have won by turtling up until he hit 200 supply
@majermike7 ай бұрын
@gsMuzak yes, reaver drops are one of snow's many options. no, flash playing defensively until he maxes out does not mean he won't reach 40 scvs.

We can talk about Snow's rise and Flash's decline all we want but let's not forget that Snow's first proleague match was him beating Flash. 13 years ago, 2-3 years into his professional career at Flash's peak.

. . . Flash is really a next level player, looks like his adaptability is way too good, you can tell by the way he can keep up with Snow having only returned not so long ago. I'm hoping he once again reigns supreme thus provoking a meta switch yet again.

@Alexfriedam : Best's play is based mainly on insane macro, Snow's play is harder to master: snipping tanks + managing insane Reaver micro + Nexus expanding + non stop producing goons+zealots. You can't imagine how insane skill and stamina it needs.
@MiguelFernandez-xy3vf7 ай бұрын
true thas why he is the only one doing it...we havent seen the best protos ever yet...can we have a player like snow with best macro?
@diegorivera67637 ай бұрын
Flash just made a World top 3 starcraft player sweat after just a few weeks since his return. Actually he performed stronger than rank leading Terran players. Snow was simply superior, although in the second match he won just because of a juicy scarab in the base at 3 o’clock.

No idea how Snow Plays like that. When I play I like to attack all in like Best. Snow never does a big attack.. He doesn't even need to.... he just micros a few goons and zealot reaver for like 10 minutes.
@JayrodTremonki7 ай бұрын
He uglies up the game to where it's 4 tanks and vultures vs 1 reaver and 3 goons perpetually. Because he will be more efficient in 90% of skirmishes. It's when it's 200 supply vs 200 supply where he loses his edge. So he never lets you get there.
@Leonhart_935 ай бұрын
He understands that there is always a chance to lose vs a big ball of tanks. That's why he doesn't risk it.

G2 was amazing. You could tell Flash has decisive advantages over Snow, namely much better macro while microing. I can see Flash getting up to speed and beating Snow solidly, as much as I don't want to admit it. Snow has a massive macro weakness.

18:14 How is that marine sitting between the barracks and the SD? He even phase shifts through the building later.
@ashesofaranea6 ай бұрын
its called a zealot tight wall, as in a wall that will allow terran marines to kite the zealots cause they are small enough that they can pass between buildings there but the zealots can't, really a very central means of walling for terran to survive early game zealots

@15:50 Here's the thing about Snow: he doesn't seem to do well under pressure at all. He's always dominating in non-asl tournaments and ladder games that people call him a God. But when it comes time to actually perform well in ASL, he often chokes. So the fact that he beat a rusty Flash in an a non-asl game means absolutely nothing to me. I'm still waiting for him to win an ASL.
@1BasedAmerican7 ай бұрын
It's still flash. Give Snow some credit. He's still better then 90% of other Protoss's out there. And no offense but I'd hardly call losing to Flash as "choking" in a tournament. Just cuz you don't beat the best player to ever pick up the mouse doesn't mean you're not good. Get real.
@osirisra14767 ай бұрын
Losing in tournament isn't the same thing as choking. The best players only win 60% of the time in BW. I don't really think you can point to an individual series where Snow flat-out choked.
@albert48607 ай бұрын
@@1BasedAmerican When did I say Snow is not good? Please don't put words in my mouth. I love watching Snow and hes probably the best Protoss out there at the moment. I was rooting for either him or Hero to win last season. As I said, Snow has been dominating the ladder and other non-asl tournaments, only a very good player could do that. However when he reaches the later rounds of the ASL, he simply does not perform as well as expected especially considered how dominating he is in non-asl settings. I consider that choking.

Game 2 - Why did Flash build science vessels if he wasn't even using any spells? If he needed something to spot for the seige tanks, he should have just build a wraith or 2.
@norik99107 ай бұрын
Snow's play is the exact opposite of Flash's, versatile, dynamic and aggresive. Flash was, is and will with his turtling play, so boring to watch.
@sanaebeast44857 ай бұрын
The arm injury leads Flash to be not aggressive any more, also Snow's PVT style is nearly similar to Jangbi in 2010 as time goes by.
@skeptic99917 ай бұрын
Sure, buddy, the player who is widely considered the best gamer of all time is boring to watch. I bet you could be a lot better and a lot more entertaining if you wanted to; you just chose to pursue other things in life because you are just THAT talented.
@orionlt10287 ай бұрын
in a month or two, flash will wipe floor with snow
@MundaneDave7 ай бұрын
This TvP style is totally different from what he was doing just one week ago. More than dynamic, Flash is able to adapt to the meta faster than anyone. It's a huge mistake thinking this is weak, or his final form.
@norik99107 ай бұрын
@@MundaneDave Sure, you're probably right, he's a fantastic player and he could use all the strategies he wants but, I wasn't attacking his skills but just his style only. He lacks this crazyness and daring strategies I sometimes see with other players. He used a lot this turtling behaviour, and if my memory serves especially against Jaedong in ASL finals.
@RyanJ141157 ай бұрын
Flash is starting to come back he just needs to stop being stubborn and accept the new TvP meta
