I am 38 and this is the first time I’ve experienced major depression and anxiety. I really appreciate the way you approach it all. There’s something very compassionate and super humane in your demeanor. Unfortunately, many clinicians find it to be an “old hat” topic and just objectively speak. You are especially right about how the brain can ABSOLUTELY convince you that it’s permanent. I am a published Clinical Neuroscientist. I professionally and intellectually know the impermanence. However, my racing thoughts contradict me relentlessly. So powerfully that they override the fact that I was the director of a mental health clinic and pulled 100s out of the depths and into emotional regulation. But me? Nope. This is my life now lol. Jk. I am medication resistant (Refractory MDD and GAD) so I start deep TMS next Thursday. I tried 11 ketamine infusions and that didn’t work. If you would, please pray for me. I have 2 beautiful children, a loving husband, and I’m supposed to be in medical school but I’m near catatonic and going through hell instead. Thank you for your videos and sharing with us. You are so very strong. I appreciate you and I hope that I will go on to be someone who can truly empathize with patients or anyone going through hell, like you are doing. God Bless.

Thank you for your feedback. I know people who have done deep TMS and found it helpful. In 2016, I did eight sessions of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), and it brought me out of a protracted depression when nothing else worked. Hold on. Something will work for you.

Appreciated sir. Depression is one of the most important subject of brain and may have different psychological conditions for each individual. Generally when one falls down from a good circumstances to a minimum or zero situation, Depression starts. In such situations you can survive if you have air to breathe and water to drink and one time meal in 24 hours. But the problem is how much one can accept the worst circumstances and yet have desire to live. This is the basic problem. Acceptance of worst circumstances and hope to get well is the only way to counter Depression.
