@@positiveimprintshq4213 If the studio had allowed Schumacher to include the deleted content instead of making it "kid-friendly" perhaps the deeper symbolism of the movie (such as Batman/Bruce Wayne's orTwo-Face/Harvey Dent's duality, or how Bruce Wayne's motivation to becoming Batman evolves from the guilt for "causing" his parent's death, to, after discovering he was't responsible, choosing to let Batman stay a part of himself in order to protect Gotham, rather than simply absolve himself), wouldn't have been overshadowed by the less fondly-remembered aspects of his directing. While Jim can do serious roles, I don't think that dark tones of Joker would work for him. He would just do too well capturing the Hamill style. I can see him doing Mad Hatter though. Jim Carrey was funny but that isn't the Riddler. The Riddler is an intellectual that wants to prove he is smarter than everyone which is why he leave puzzles at his own crime scenes. In this movie and in the 66 classic series it was like "make him like the Joker...but green!" Not gonna say I hate this film but I have it as one of my guilty pleasures.

I think he would make a wonderful Joker. People here saying that he would just be silly the whole time I think are wrong. He can act in more darker rolls and not be over the top like he usually is. I think he’d be damn near perfect because he can play that silly angle while also being incredibly dark.

This movie had a lot of problems, but honestly you can't fault Jim Carrey for any of it. He gave 100% based on the script and what the director wanted, even if those things were not what the Batman franchise needed. This role deserves a spot along side Ace Ventura and the Grinch as some of his best and most hilarious performances, even if the movie was mostly crap.

No, he wasn't. Watch KZbin videos of the riddler in the game Batman: Arkham City if you want to see how the riddler should be portrayed. While the riddler is certainly flamboyant, it's not a defining characteristic to the extent it is for the joker. The riddler is a Psychopathic narcisisist who is determined to prove his intellectual superiority over batman by setting a riddle he will never solve.
