Also, what does this scene say about the development of Riddle/Nygma from a helpless "nobody" to a murderous psychopath, since you only say that "the fact that he did say 'terminated' says a lot?"

I still think he would have been a better Joker. The more "animated" style of Joker from 90s, tends to me more about pranks, joking and kiling others. While Jim can do serious roles, I don't think that dark tones of Joker would work for him. He would just do too well capturing the Hamill style. I can see him doing Mad Hatter though. This is a movie that people love to hate. I just watched it again, yesterday, for the first time in maybe 20 years…and I still really enjoyed it. Every shot is beautiful. Great lighting and cinematography. Tommy lee was excellent. Jim was fun. This movie wasn’t meant to be taken in the same way as the first two. I think one of the main reasons why every seems to hate this film is because it lead to Batman and Robin…which was horrible

He gave 100% based on the script and what the director wanted, even if those things were not what the Batman franchise needed.
