Yeah that's basically the Apothecary in Warhammer 40k, they take the geneseed from fallen Space Marines

Alien (tyranids), Starship Troopers (power armor), Star Wars (space magic and genetically modified soldiers), Dune of course (what with the psychic god emperor and all), Foundation, Mad Max, little bit of Tolkein in there with the space elves (the name Eldar for elves comes directly from LotR lore) and the orks go without explanation. Probably a ton I missed as well.
