There has to be a point of diminishing return for button travel distance.
@TheJakeJackson2 ай бұрын
There's no advantage whatsoever to shorter than normal travel. Your fingers to not rest directly on the button (unless you build higher actuation force switches like I do), therefore your total travel is down to the distance your hand hovers above the stick. Button travel is irrelevant.
@HushMySweet12 ай бұрын
Probably so. I remember the optical controller Jamsta sent me to test (which was awesome btw), but the sensors didn't have feedback like a normal button press. And I found it was something I missed. Still super rad controller though.

@@TheJakeJackson I play osu, you're fulla crap. there is absolutely a difference.
@momo.ru-kun2 ай бұрын
@@JessicaFEREMhe is right. many fighting games have timing programmed into them make the press too fast and they cancel out the keystroke. for example if you play 3rd strike in leverless, it is better to press the buttons slow to register the half circle, if you do it too fast, the programming will think you are pressing simultaneous buttons, that's why there are input delays in FG unlike in many other games, FGs have multiple keystrokes putting in an input delay lets the game understand what you are actually pressing. if there are no delays it will not be able to figure out whether you are doing motion controls. these buttons are only good for action buttons. when you put them in direction buttons they are garbage
@momo.ru-kun2 ай бұрын
@@JessicaFEREMalso you have five fingers in each hand, so you still need to lift your fingers to press other buttons. so the button may have few millimeters for actuation, but everybody does differently once they lift their hands and fingers to press other buttons. so really actuation distance is garbage. what you want is find the appropriate actuation force that is just right for your finger muscle

I installed the flashtap v2 on my victrix leverless . They are amazing and I prefer them over the qanba gravity ks and gamerfinger buttons. The low travel distance is really a game changer. I'm still learning SF6 but since release , there were many combos that I often drop and can barely do them in training mode and online matches but after installing them, it felt like I can do them easily now. They just feel right to me and I am really glad I bought them

You know, this personally wouldn't be for me (even something like an optical switch or low-profile choc switch feels a little too short in total travel distance for me), but the connection prongs being connected sideways would totally be something I'd want a button, plus more options is always cool. I wonder how these would feel for the movement buttons of a leverless, honestly. Appreciate the review, Hush!
@HushMySweet12 ай бұрын
That's an interesting idea. So you would potentially use these as the movement and then more traditional fare for your action buttons on the right hand? I'll have to see if I can snag some 24mm ones to see how that would feel. Thanks for watching, Lendin! Always nice to see ya!

I've wondered a bit why arcade buttons have never ventured into the territory of mouse-style microswitches. Too much clinging to the tradition of having 3-4mm total travel? It'll be interesting to see how these sell. Might inspire a movement! Especially for helping out with slide motions.
@HushMySweet12 ай бұрын
Yeah, it will be cool to see if these get fully embraced or not. First signs point to yes (at least in Japan) because supposedly the allocated run of 24mm buttons sold out in 7 minutes. Once the OneFrame (Tokido's button) drop, it would be great if you can make a comparison of the two. They seem to try to achieve the same goal. @@HushMySweet1 You can also compare it to the Punkworkshop Blaze 😁. Those new buttons with mouse switches are the new hot things it seems. To be honest I don't like the feel of Sanwa button for leverless (play with them on stick for more than 20 years though), and pure keyboard switches have a too long total travel distance. So i'm very curious about those "fast" switches.

It's a deal breaker if I have to solder wires to these buttons. I'll give it a pass. Some things to improve on these buttons are to add .110 Quick Connect male conductors, and have LEDs that only light up when pressed.
